    Ok Bob.
How many economic forecasts, predicting recession, mass unemployment, world war (yes really!!) every year following the referendum result have come true?

    None!!

The problem for many on here like yourself, respectfully, is that you simply can't see past your total hatred for all things Tory.
Now, I agree that they have many, many faults and have done some bad and damaging things during my lifetime. But so has Labour and indeed, all politicians of all persuations.
I don't have much time for any of the self serving, lying ****s.
However, I do try to judge them all as I see them.
Moderate labour MPs often seem to mirror my beliefs on quite a few things.
Your problem and others on here too is that you can't bring yourself to ever agree with anything proposed by a Tory.
Boris has lied in the past, like all politicians, although, along with the racism accusations, this gets greatly exaggerated.
If it turns out that he's lying now about what he wants to see happen then I'll acknowledge it.
But for now, I'm prepared to wait and see, because I'm so heartily sick of all the negativity.
I know this needs to be backed by actions, but it's a start.

I like the diversity of the new cabinet and the positive unity.
May's government was the polar opposite.
This new Tory government is proposing exactly what many Labour (and marxist) supporters on here have been asking for, but this hatred of everything Tory prevents any acknowledgement of a good idea and instead displays total contradiction.
Yes, these things maybe should have been proposed earlier and we can argue over Labour leaving the country broke and whether austerity should have ever happened. I think it did, but I believe it was far too deep and went on for far too long.
I'd far more like to see us cutting aid to countries like India, who have their own space programme.

    We'll never agree on Brexit.
I believe The EU is totally undemocratic and is effectively a closed, protectionist club that has desimated the lives of many in Greece, Spain etc.
Their recent appointments of people to the top jobs and the way that happened, only re-enforces my views.
I don't want a United states of Europe etc.
We've done all that to death anyway eh?

I respect your views and your right to have them. I just get a bit peeved at the generalisations aimed at people like me, who don't happen to agree with all of your world view.

Apologies for the long post, but I felt it was important to draw back from the slanging match, something I'm as guilty of as anyone.

Hopefully the new season will mean we can start to agree on more things again mate.

Respect col. You're quite right, I do dislike the Tories so bloody much due to my northern upbringing. Thatcher ruined the north for many families and generations. Labour, I am actually struggling with while Corbyn is in charge. I think he is weak. I do feel sorry for the constant hounding of him by the media and areas of the public so in retrospect, johnson as the leader of the country cant expect anything less, especially when he actually speaks the things he gets accused of, where as people seem to have the ability to climb inside Corbyn's thoughts and read them and publish them.
We will never agree on the EU, but that certainly doesnt make me like or respect you any less. I have become less patriotic of this country with every year I age, due to the total unfairness of society. Democracy is a myth in my opinion, those in brussels might not be elected by us, but more importantly, our own leader hasn't been elected by us and that is the biggest hypocrisy of all.
As for austerity, it did and still is happening mate on a daily basis although May said it was ending. You should see the amount of food banks up here, the charity drop offs my father in law does for the oap's due to services being cut. The list is endless. This and other things make my patriotism wain and I feel it difficult to be optimistic and believe we can get through brexit when we cant even look after our own now. So much EU funding for my sister in laws work for charities comes to our government that doesnt even get allocated anywhere.
Anyway mate, let the season roll on, what will be will be, my application for an irish passport isn't looking too rosy so no doubt I will catch a fair few away games and the odd home game. Be nice to have a pint when I'm next at HQ.

Obviously a fair bit in there I disagree with, but I did acknowledge that austerity went far too far and I agree that it still is.
Looks like The government are at last loosening the purse strings. Hammond's head is likely to explode!!
I don't equate pride in my country and patriotism to what certain governments do or don't do, although I understand the view point.
My patriotism stems more for a real love of where I come from and faith (generally) in our people.

No point re-visiting the EU arguments mate. The sooner it's resolved the better eh?

I'd love to meet up for a pint at a game.

France just put a digital tax on our great American technology companies.
If anybody taxes them, it should be their home Country, the USA.
We will announce a substantial reciprocal action on Macron’s foolishness shortly.

I would say most of the issues stated by remainers have come true from the off a lot of people talked about the Irish problem . As for finance since Brexit The UK has slipped in most markets

I would welcome any debate from a brexiteer who could offer a plan of any sort still nothing

It’s very clear it was a hollow protest with next to no substance apart from blaming the EU for our own demise

Ready for a no deal I just drive down the M20

No chance that will be finished in time not a chance it’s down to two lanes for 40 miles and cannot cope with any amount of normal traffic

All we have had since the PM is what?

Words most of which are projects that are ongoing

Can’t people see all this is the same old facts with just another flavour... it’s very entertaining

Johnson is reported to be setting up a 'war cabinet' to prepare for a no deal Brexit. Good ****ing grief. This deluded **** actually thinks he's Churchill. Utter madness.
