During the last election Labours manifesto was costed out .... The same couldn't have been said with the Conservatives.
Sounds good in principle but i don't believe it is being worked anywhere? Heard there were trials in some Scandinavian country for 2 years but they pulled the plug after a year or so. The recipients of ubi (from what i remember) didnt suffer as much hardship but also didnt find new jobs/retrain as ubi had intended (not for carers but for the unemployed). Apart from this case where is ubi being used?
Yes, so they kept telling us, the only problem is they wouldn't reveal the cost when repeatedly asked from all sides of the media. Why do you think that was?...
Sorry Bob you’re correct. I thought they’d rolled it out in Canada. I still think it can work in theory. Our various benefits are so complicated and we’ve seen the carnage caused by Universal Credit. Our cost of living is sufficiently high it could be set at a level where you’d still be encouraged to work even a minimum wage role.
That's just wrong, the costings were readily available...... http://labour.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Funding-Britains-Future.pdf Compare that to the magic money tree promises made by Johnson in recent months.
Nobody may see the economic impact analysis of Boris’ glorious new deal because Brexit. Let’s roll out some junior minister to blindly shout it’s a positive deal for the economy though.
Yes, our Chancellor of the Exchequer said yesterday that there was no need for an economic analysis of the impacts of Johnson's deal and that we should 'trust in democracy'. The ****ing Chancellor apparently doesn't think that facts and figures are important! Meanwhile the Brexit Secretary didn't realise that those exporting from NI to GB would have complete customs documentation under this deal. What a ****ing farce!
Why wouldnt anyone, anywhere regardless of their preferential vote not want to see an economic impact analysis?
Yeah why not, if you like it, all's fine and dandy, if not, PROJECT FEAR and then instantly dismiss it
It started badly when I got stuck behind some people who were walking too slowly. It was gratifying to read the other day that people who walk slowly age more quickly and have smaller brains. I think the same applies to Brexiters.
Could it be that some people who walk too slowly may not be physically able to walk any faster? Just a thought
