Assuming you were born in 1954 you just about qualify to have this opinion. Nobody younger than you could possibly confirm or deny.
A lot of that I can agree with. Phillip Ausländer was the guy who's book I read. He discussed relationships between live and recorded events. I think we are diverting off what this was about. It's great having camera's/reports and such but it will never give the experience of actually being there. As I previously said, it just adds information to what you witnessed and sometimes not always the same?
Sadly he has made himself look a bit stupid and has resulted in sarcasm. At least Will is giving me a good run for his money?
She did some fab stuff for this country but sadly many people got f22ked because of the change... which was needed. (not people getting f22ked, I meant change).
When we are talking politics and history of cause the emotion felt is still relevant, it's not as important as facts if you want a balanced reflection of what actually occurred and the right or the wrongs of a situation. Something might feel right at the time and bring positive emotion however will only lead to further suffering.. Can't think of a current example
Think yourself lucky as I was growing up we had bloody power cuts all the time and strikes where all the rubbish piled up causing rats. People couldn't get buried and the bodies mounted (although I didn't see that part of it). She changed all that and also gave my mum and Dad a chance to own their home. Growing up around that era taught me to respect money and people. It wasn't so materialistic then. Saying all that in the last 20 years I have seen this country go through a new change which was also needed.
