You could well be right it’s something he’s been posturing with for years, now might be the right time for him to step up.

should the rest of the world interfere? Yeah .. in theory, Putin shouldn’t be able to just annex another nation… but as we both know it’s not that simple, who knows what would happen off the back of it.

You dont normally deploy 100,000 troops on a border for a jolly.

If it is a jolly, could we send Boris?

Send over Farage, he’s never short of an opinion. He’d last less time than a bottle of wine at a Tory work meeting

I’m no lover of the Ukrainians who are, or so it seems, rather right wing and nationalistic in their politics. However it seems the West could very well get backed into a corner and be forced to help, through more than just sending arms like we are now, this leading to the potential of a more global conflict.
This sort of thing is always how the big ‘Nuclear war’ films start…..with some mundane conflict being reported and us just ignoring it…then boom !!! Before we know it we’re walking down a long road and considering eating our kids

There was a doc/film on Netflix that I watched a while ago that has him there at the frontline when the Ukrainian revolution happened. He wasn’t as popular as I thought he would be and some saw him as a sell out

Ive helped sue gray do her job.
The PM stood in parliment and said "he has been assured there were no parties or gatherings at no.10" he also said "all guidance was followed".
He now says in hindsight that he wishes he would have sent everyone back inside from the party that wasnt a party. If he wished that then, why did he stand up and lie to parliment?

The defence bod today said the U.K. would not get involved if they attacked although we have sent many defence systems that would hurt an invading army. The US has sent in Blinken for talks. More importantly the west has threatened to freeze Russia's money and business systems which would hurt them. Although Germany has already caved in, so who knows?
Putin always likes to flex his muscles and having a go at an easy target like Ukraine is the best he can do (remember they handed over all their nukes years ago) so they don't have the strength or deterant. Russia would not stand a chance against the US... probably not even us and our allies.
    Saying all that...
We are dealing with a man of masculinity who likes to be regarded as a 'bear'. A mans man who goes out hunting and sits in a hot tub with his mates after drinkinking vodka. A man who likes combat and Karate and get nervous when people get near his border (the EU and Nato).

Just don’t know where it stops. If Putin is given the green light so to speak, Is that the end of it? Or what’s his next move when he gets bored.

    Good post.

Totally agree with your last paragraph….on paper you would say it would be madness for him to invade and could eventually lead to his downfall…..however I think all logic is lost on him with his craving for territory and power. Don’t think he’ll want to look weak to his people and as Hoop-Leif says, 100,000 troops are a lot to deploy on the border if he really has no intention of an invasion.
    Interesting times to come
