It's not a good look when Satanists can dunk on you

 

My wonderful wife has worked for the NHS for a bit over 30 years. She works at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow. Due to lack of public transport options she has to drive to work, and due to lack of nearby parking she has no option but to use the hospital parking - for which she is charged £28 per month. It's even directly taken from her monthly pay.

Now she has been informed - only last week - that her parking charge is to be increased to... wait for it... £67 per month. These charges will start on 1 February, which is hardly much of a notice or consultation period, let alone the disgrace of imposing a 240% increase!

Make no mistake about it. My wife has just been handed a £467 a year pay cut. You can't look at it any other way. Now compare and contrast this with the nice things said about the NHS, by all parties, in our recent election. Some of it specifically about hospital parking charges. I never fail to be in awe at the dedication of my wife and all the staff of the NHS, who are continually abused for their dedication.

[For clarity I should add that the parking charges are a sliding scale base on pay grade. Many will pay less, but my wife has kind of been penalised for her long service.]

 

It's a prime example of neo liberal values. Another example of the increasingly disgusting Country called England where the electorate have just voted for more of the same.

There's one thing that's bugging me about the Harry Dunn/Anne Sacoolas case...and, no, it's not Dominic Raab aiding and abetting Sacoolas legging it out of the country nor is it him locking Dunn's parents out of a hustings last month

Okay, let me start again, there's a third thing bugging me about the Harry Dunn/Anne Sacoolas case: every time the BBC report on the story, the photo they show of Sacoolas is one taken of her at least thirty years ago, probably closer to forty - but if you Google her name you can find far more recent photos of her, which have been used not just by Sky but various newspapers and hate comics

Now why the hell are the BBC doing this? It's bizarre, especially considering countless other people suspected of manslaughter have their faces and names splashed all over the coverage, even ones who are later acquitted of those charges as was the case with the bloke accused of killing Andrew Harper before he was acquitted as Harper was killed by a police car
