The war of 1812 was effectively the US attempting to incorporate Canada into the US. Although they only teach the limited successes in the US (some frigate on frigate actions and the Battle of New Orleans) it was a major strategic disaster that crippled US trade (pretty much every US merchant ship was captured or bottled up in port) and they totally failed to achieve their objectives. Luckily for the US however Britain was fully involved in the Napoleonic Wars so had other priorities.
Nothing to see here, just an unelected bureaucrat threatening the armed forces with having Cummings shout at them if they don't do what Cummings wants
Francois is such an obnoxious little ****witt , Nick Carter should send a couple of his boys round to the fat little c**ts gaff and have a word
What really sticks out is that he was in the Territorial Army, yet acts like he was on the front lines, which is why the general is laughing in his face ...one of the reasons why the general is laughing in his face
Trump's niece has written a book about Trump and his financial fiddling. She wrote it because he did her and her brother out of family millions.Trump and his cronies put out that his dad's property etc amounted to 47 million. It appears that it was worth nearly 500 million and she received "a pittance". I think Trump will finish up like Al Capone, put in prison for tax evasion.
This is part of a post I made on facebook on 26 January this year - before we allegedly started caring about NHS workers: [My wife] works at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow. Due to lack of public transport options she has to drive to work, and due to lack of nearby parking she has no option but to use the hospital parking - for which she is charged £28 per month. It's even directly taken from her monthly pay. Now she has been informed - only last week - that her parking charge is to be increased to... wait for it... £67 per month. These charges will start on 1 February, which is hardly much of a notice or consultation period, let alone the disgrace of imposing a 240% increase. Make no mistake about it. My wife has just been handed a £467 a year pay cut. You can't look at it any other way. Now compare and contrast this with the nice things said about the NHS, by all parties, in our recent election. Some of it specifically about hospital parking charges. I never fail to be in awe at the dedication of my wife and all the staff of the NHS, who are continually abused for their dedication. [For clarity I should add that the parking charges are a sliding scale base on pay grade. Many will pay less, but my wife has kind of been penalised for her long service.]
Government to pay 50% of eating out under £10 in August! I see queues for Chick King going 3 times around the new lane.
America elected the 7 Deadly Sins incarnate. Great work, evangelicals. This did make me laugh, but it's a bit too disturbingly on the nose, unfortunately: https://www.benjaminlcorey.com/coul...he-antichrist-heres-the-biblical-predictions/
I don't know who the person is who upped the parking price but he or she needs to be cornered and beaten serverely!
Here's the thing (as far as I can gather) - it has to be £10 a head or more, and no booze I think that rules out McDonalds, Burger King and KFC, while I'm suspicious that tapas places are going to try playing silly buggers
It appears the money little businesses should be getting (and them alone!) has been going into the big business coffers. I call that "very American!"....and it stinks.
This twitter meltdown is because Trump lost a court case that asserted that he could basically do whatever the **** he wanted. He will now eventually have to release his tax returns, a mere four years after he said that he'd do that willingly. Why is he throwing his toys out of the pram about something that he says he's quite happy to do? Because Russia, as usual.
