Sounds a bit pretentious but now’s our “chance”(?), opportunity to do a people thing rather than moaning.x
Yeah. Every generation or thereabouts, we have a moment that we'll be remembered for, either for good or ill. It's here. There will be a lot of vulnerable people who need help, and those of us who aren't vulnerable need to step up, as it's quite likely that we'll have a surplus of free time for a while (just wash your damned hands first).
Rules are rules and the main one is that every club will play each other home and away and until that is completed it is just fantasy football IMO. Also too much money at stake in the CL and relegation.
On the BBC: Premier League could resume before virus restrictions are lifted – Southampton chief https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51990101 Sounds unrealistic.
Not saying it will happen, but can see some value in it. He is right about people needing cheering up and entertaining. I see that they are cutting back on production of EastEnders and various other programmes... just at the time people need distractions. Suspect this is to do with a fear of being sued by the talent if they fall ill, as much as for concern for their health. Being facetious, but it's lucky Vera Lynn didn't refuse to entertain the troops during the war...incidentally she recently put out a message of encouragement to us all (at 103 years of age).
Similar, I took the trouble to find who the woman I've been sharing my house with was, apparently we've been married for 25 years. Now there's an thing, who'd of thought it.
I suppose they are thinking about playing behind closed doors...the problem is that not only would all players have to be Covid19-free or have had the disease, but so would an unknown number of support staff and TV crew. Unlikely as previously said.
About 70% of the players won't want to continue during this period. No matter what they say to the media. This season is over.
Where do you get that figure from HR? They'll get a big slap with the money stick if they don't play ball!
