It's a niche point, but if the PL does ultimately restart, I wonder what provision would be in place for someone like Cedric. Out of contract players who a club wishes to retain until the new end of the season will be allowed to extend their contract. Extensions to existing loan deals will be allowed too, I understand, if the parent club agrees. But with someone like Cedric, I doubt we would be looking to extend his contract temporarily. What would we get out of it? So presumably, as of 1 July, he becomes a free agent. And in that case, how could Arsenal extend a loan deal for someone who is a free agent? Sure they could sign him as a full-time player. But would he then be allowed to play? Would he have to wait until the transfer window opens, whenever that might be? I'm sure there are a number of other players potentially affected too. Maya, for example, to name another of ours.
Maya! Covid has clearly been sent by a powerful being with the intent to keep Maya at Saints. It’s a sign.
Apologies if this has been mentioned, but apparently (OK, it's in The Sun) PL clubs will put cardboard cutouts of fans in their seats, to 'improve the atmosphere'. Fans can pay (donate to the NHS) for having their face on a cut out. This will obviously favour Man Utd, as most of their home fans are plastic, anyway.
2 positive tests from separate clubs in the latest round of testing, from which 996 tests were carried out.
Just watched an old The Big Match on ITV4, it featured the Saints beating Fulham 4 - 1 in 1976, The post match was typical of what we have had to put up with over the years, was there praise for a fine victory and some good goals for the Saints? Not a bit of it, all sympathy for Fulham because George Best had been stupid and got himself sent off for dissent, there then followed a free range diatribe from the Fulham manager slagging the Saints off for some unpunished tackles and there was no right to reply or defend themselves. Some things never change! https://www.11v11.com/matches/southampton-v-fulham-02-october-1976-117610/
Under Test and Trace, would an entire team have to isolate for 14 days if this happens once contact training resumes?
Nobody knows, because you can just interpret the rules depending on whether you're a good parent or not, like Scummings did.
