RIP former chief rabbi Jonathan Sacks. I remember listening to his thoughts on Radio 4's 'thought for the day' when I used to drive to work back in the 1980's / 1990's. I'm not a great one for religious leaders, though with a few exceptions (Desmond Tutu being one for example) but I do believe Jonathan Sacks was a man of wisdom and great thoughtfulness. His was a calm, friendly voice on the radio for a long time back in the day.
No RIP needed, as it was always a given that he would. He will be remembered most for how he made people feel.
35 million albums sold...no wonder he didn't mind people taking the piss out of his singing. A little bit of energy has gone out of the world today.
The baby boom is ironically why we are now losing so many gifted people, but then again we had so many heroes, sportsmen, entertainers, inventers etc. The end of WW2 opened the door to an era of development that maybe will never to be witnessed again. RIP Ray, always dependable.
Isn't any thread sacred? I'm autistic, I have to put things right, clear up your mess, so..... Rest in peace Ray x
