Ok so it was "the credit crunch" since 2007, the fact still remains that people have been short on money for 5 years. My point still stands, you were in the champions league in 2009 and that's almost 4yrs we've been in a recession so why now? If you think that's a "victory" you're an idiot, I wouldn't have even bothered with that post as it only shows i got the official recession start date wrong, everything else I posted still stands and yet you both choose to ignore it.
I never claimed any victories, I merely showed when the recession started, which was in 2009 and not 2007. This is Celtic's first go at the Champions league since the recession began. We were knocked out of the CL at the qualifying stages in August 2009 and played in the Europa League 2009-10.
According to some of my mates who actually go to the Celtic games the champions league package is surprisingly low in cost.
It is, it's a bargain but it still has to be paid for on top of season books or "on the day" match tickets. The attendances are falling and I doubt it has anything to do with Rangers (as is being slyly inferred here unless i'm mistaken). Rangers have been massaging their official attendance figures, so less people are going to Ibrox now despite the season books being much cheaper than last season. Either they are feeling the pinch too (and who is'nt?), or the fans are doing the same as Celtic fans, and not attending matches because Celtic are not in the same division. Money's too tight too mention and fans are voting with their feet and being selective in which games they pay for, it's as simple as that I suspect.
It has ****ing everything to do with us not being there. Don't gees yer pish. I'm not buying it for a second so stop wasting your time
Aye that's exactly what your average Celtic fan thinks before going to the game. "aw naw, Rangers urnae in the SPL, I hink aye'll gie the game a miss the day". Away and don't talk ****e.
Incorrect. Actually, I'll point you towards you're own post and link, the recession was in 2008, it was only reported in your link in 2009. You were in the champions league 08/09. The fact still remains that we have been in financial trouble since mid-late 2007, I remember it specifically as it was right after a house purchase. Facts are: Financial problems for 5yrs Celtic have probably played almost 50 European games in this time but it is only now that the domestic attendances suffer. So which is it? Rangers or School uniforms?
I fail to see what point you are trying and failing to make, suffice to say i'm not really interested.
So If I can show you the official attendance figures were massaged, and were in fact much lower than reported, you would admit that Rangers' fans are failing to attend Ibrox for the same reason that you say the Celtic fans are staying away?

Similarly, when Elgin City visited Ibrox, the attendance given on the official club website was 46,015 when in actual fact, the correct attendance was 36,944. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
