Seen some people pointing out our opponents next few games so thought I'd do a thread on it with each of the current bottom 5's final fixtures are already. Think everyone including the Baggies fans accept they're down, for Stoke its looking tough but if they can stay in touch before their final 5 games they could pull themselves out of it, same again with Palace, Southampton seem to have the toughest run in along with us so this weekend game is HUGE! *Note that this is not a Prediction League but feel free to put some scores down if you fancy. 16th - NUFC: Southampton Huddersfield Leicester Arsenal Everton West Brom Watford Chelsea *Spurs TBC 17th - Southampton NUFC West Ham Arsenal Chelsea Leicester Bournemouth Everton Man City *Swansea TBC 18th - Crystal Palace Chelsea Huddersfield Liverpool Bournemouth Brighton Watford Leicester Stoke West Brom 19th - Stoke Man City Everton Arsenal Spurs West Ham Burnley Liverpool Palace Swansea 20th - West Brom Leicester Bournemouth Burnley Swansea Man UTD Liverpool NUFC Spurs Palace
West Brom have been Pardew'd and are gone. Stoke are looking very likely to be next. From there on its too tight to call and i think we will be well in the mix. I suspect that some other team being **** keeps us up rather than us pulling ourselves clear.
Southampton have a match with Swansea to fit in as well as FA Cup tie, the FA Cup ties may leave them stretched as they have struggled to win in the PL, lots of draws, it is just too tight to call, it's going to be one of the tightest ends down the bottom ever, excluding WBA who are gone.
Unlikely though, i am afraid. Sods law dictates that Fat Sam's smug, gum chewing face, will be all over MOTD after they snatch a last minute victory from us .......................... its the NUFC way!!!
West Brom are ****ed, Stoke are ****ed since they brought in that Lambert clown. Realistically, it's a 6 way battle between us, Palace, Swansea, West Ham, Huddersfield and Southampton for the last place. Swansea's recent form will rescue them, they ain't going down. us and West Ham should scrape through. Southampton are showing some form, Palace is recent record is poor, but they looked decent last night, Huddersfield try hard but lack goals and much quality. Palace would be my tip right now, their next 3 games - Chelsea (a), Huddersfield (a) & Liverpool (h) - could see them losing all 3 and getting cut adrift.
Top man, edited to reflect the Swansea fixture. May do a running update as the weeks go by as I agree that bottom 5 will change more often than Sunderland fans walk out at half time.
I reckon we'll drop into the bottom 3 by the Leicester game having stumbled to last gasp defeats against Saints and Huddersfield. We draw the Leicester game before Slimani hits the form of his life against Arsenal, reaching 14 goals between then and the end of the season and leaving us on 44 points.
Indeed. We are deep in the ****e and we appear to be banking on others being worse than us rather than confident that we can master our own destiny.
I think losing 2 points against Bournemouth will be the difference for us. I think Stoke and Crystal Palace will somehow get out of it. I think the next couple of games will determine whether we go down, and if we do, who we go with. Could be: WBA, Southampton, Us. WBA, Southampton, Huddersfield. Or WBA, Us, Huddersfield. We lack the quality. Decent effort this season, no matter what.
Heart of hearts is feel this is right. Between us and Hudds but the bournemouth **** up felt seismic.
Southampton, West Brom and Huddersfield are must win games. Anything less than 9 points and we are in big trouble.
We need to win 2 of them - maybe 4 points would suffice. We'll probably get another 3-5 points from other fixtures. Can't see us requiring more than 38 points to stay up.
Wow, Stoke's fixtures look horrible, can see them finally going down. Your fixtures don't look too bad, should have enough to win 3 games there which you'd think should be enough. West Brom, Stoke, Saints looking at fixtures remaining. Palace look like they have just about enough about them to win games, where as Saints look toothless.
We could do with a good striker who scores goals to keep us up. Someone like that fella who plays on loan at Fulham.......
