I thought we gave up on him weeks ago? For once, I actually agree with Cellino - what's the point in signing loan players if we have no chance of keeping them permanently? I can understand the loan system for L1 and L2 clubs who don't have the financial resources or the youth players to sufficiently fill their squads, but for us I don't see the point in bringing in a player on loan whom we know will not be signing permanently - it impedes the progress of our own young players. If we're not going to sign a winger of our own, I'd rather throw Walters in and see what he can do.
we will have to buy him when leeds get promoted to premiership this season then, and we start beating man sh.ty in the premiership ha ha
Walters clearly isn't ready in Rosler's eyes if he hasn't even had the opportunity in pre-season. I agree that we should be looking to use the loan system to our advantage so adding the clause to buy if we want afterwards. Although in this situation I'm inclined to go against that. We don't have ANY wingers, we need some desperately. The lad's wages ain't gonna be much and in the unlikely scenario that we do get promoted with him in the team he'd be quite likely to wanna join us in the prem seeings his contract would've run out at Citeh and he'd realise after they sign another couple wingers for 50m each that he's unlikely to ever get a chance there. I'd say give it a go, while still looking for another winger permanently. Its relatively low risk.
Been linked with Brentford winger Stuart Dallas http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/07/31/leeds-target-brentford-northern-ireland-star-dallas/?
Don't see where the harm would've been in giving him a run out or two but agreed, he's clearly not in Rosler's plans for this season. Looks like we've signed the winger we desperately needed so this is probably a moot point now - I do get what you're saying though, I'm just tired of relying on loan players to plug gaps in a squad. If our recruitment strategy was good enough in the first place, we wouldn't have those gaps in the squad to begin with.
looks like stuart dallas will be coming to leeds , lets hope his dad JR of DALLAS TV SERIES buys leeds utd then we will have some big money to spend
