They spent wisely, but not on premiership nous. The only player they signed with extensive premiership experience was Jagielka, who has barely featured. The few players they brought in simply filled the few gaps in their already strong squad. They are where they are because they are a physically powerful team with a playing style built on sound defence -- lack of which accounts for why we are where we are as well.
IMO that Sun report was just lazy journalism - 'just make it up'. Like you, I hope we use a 3 CB formation more next season, as our players are so well suited to it. Sorenson can also play at CB, which would allow him to move into midfield when we have the ball, then drop back to CB when it's lost.
Kind of mad that with 3 rounds of the Championship left, the only sides mathematically certain to be in that division when the 20/21 season kicks off in 8 weeks time, are Norwich, Coventry and Rotherham. None of the current 24 teams have been ruled out of promotion or relegation.
Thinking of next season. Does anyone seriously think that us supporters will be allowed to attend the games.? The way things are going (face masks etc) I really cannot see any time soon when we will be allowed back in Carrow Rd. Any thoughts?
Over here in Aus they are allowing for partial stadium fills, maybe they will allow 25% capacity or something
Yes, but maybe they will have to have a lottery and those that don't get it, are refunded the amount for the ticket? At least then there will be some sort of an atmosphere, true it will be akin to playing at Portman Road, but they are used to it there
PSG played a friendly vs Le Havre and 5000 fans were there to see it. https://www.caughtoffside.com/2020/07/13/neymar-goal-video-as-psg-thrash-le-havre-in-front-of-fans/ Distancing at an all-seater football ground would be quite easy to police ./ steward, surely? Like using every 4th seat and leaving alternate rows empty. And only leaving when the stewards tell you to to avoid any crush to get out (which some of our recent performances would encourage!) Do nothing for atmosphere with fans so spaced but at least it's revenue trickling in to the club?
If reduced capacity is to be the way forward, maybe our faithful away support should be given priority when it comes to allocating tickets for home matches.
Maybe the club should increase the cost of tickets as clearly they are too cheap. Lets see how many people who moan about Delia & Co not giving their money to the club are happy to dip into their own pockets. Looking at the percentage on the ground we fill week in week out, it would appear ticket are too cheap.
Not many critics of Delia on here carrow, You could try posting that on the Pink'Un forum though .......
