This is a good article about behind the scenes of NCFC, not much I didn't know before, but good nevertheless: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...turn-big-time-details-not-dollars-matter.html
Yes, I just finished that. I didn't know about the veg patch at Conley - it's a great example of SW's 'incremental growth' philosophy. We do know most of that, but it's good that it's portrayed to a wider audience before the inevitable relegation predictions start pouring in.
It will be the same comments during the summer from other fans about our lack of spending and therefore "we're not trying to stay up". There will be zero appreciation that we're already committed to spending on Gibson, Giannoulis (and maybe Quintilla). Given other clubs' finances due to COVID, i'll not be surprised if we get offered enough for Buendia or Aarons to warrant significant outlays on other players. "Ignore the noise" will be just as relevant in the coming months.
If we do not get offered enough for Emi, Tod or Max, then we will not need to recruit others because those three will still be Canary players. I am certain they are well aware of this fact, SW will have told them the facts I am sure.
Interesting interview with Giannoulis about his move and time so far at Norwich. https://www.gazzetta.gr/specials/15...talanta-alla-tora-tha-ziso-oneiro-tis-premier
Good in depth look at Dimitris through his own words (courtesy of rather amusing Google translate). The journo obviously did his research carefully: "The roster is Premier League level. We have great ball movement, we have an amazing offensive line with players like Candwell, Buentia, Dowell and Pooky. That made the difference."
Looking ahead, Tim Krul reveals what could make all the difference next season: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...etwise-ahead-of-premier-league-return-7941460 The team's greater experience, especially in defence, could well be the key factor next season.
https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/5167795/ Comparing this promotion to previous NCFC Championship promotion seasons. This is the highest points total achieved, with significantly fewer goals conceded too. A 2-goal margin in the final game of the season would be enough to give us our best ever goal difference too.
Interesting in depth interview with Kieran Dowell, charting his development as a player and why coming to Norwich has worked out so well: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kieran-dowell-everton-transfer-20540283 This particularly interested me: "Loans are like crash courses, you are learning so much with different managers. At Forest, I had Mark Warburton and Aitor Karanka who have two completely different styles and you're lucky in a way to have played for so many managers in such a short space of time. You do learn a lot but it does come to a point where you want to settle and play for one manager and be part of his plans and his teams." He describes his 'fit' with Buendia and Cantwell as being at the heart of his recent success and let's hope that is carried over into next season.
The Premier League has confirmed that fixtures for the 2021-22 season will be announced at 9am on Wednesday, June 16.
