Sports Personality 2021: Tom Daley, Tyson Fury, Adam Peaty, Emma Raducanu, Raheem Sterling and Sarah Storey up for award I'm sorry but... WHAAAAAT Olympic knitter (fair enough, ticks a few boxes) Horrid drug taking cheat swimmer nobody cares about Child who came form nowhere and has done her best to go back there a TWAT and a token para-Olympian. just what did the twat do to merit a nomination here? is this a euro 21 thing or some such? I'm backing the knitter here. seems a nice enough lad and that
Tom Daley or Emma Raducanu will win it. Prob Tom winning main and Emma winning young if that’s a thing? God knows what Sterling is in for. Guessing his Euro’s performance plus has he done lots of stuff around racism etc? Tbf it’s an award that no one cares about unless you win it. No one grows up wanting to win it and no one in the public really cares who wins it either
It was bigger once. A bit of a back pat and a dinner out when pro sports people didnt have oligarch cash to party on.
I see the "Child who came from nowhere and has done her best to go back there" now has covid too. if she had a checklist of how to ruin a career she would probably have checked all the boxes now 1. sack coach who go you there. check 2. don't appoint a new one. check 3. go partying. check 4. don't train but enter tournaments. check. lose tournaments. check 5. get corona to knock yourself out of next major. check.
I know I'm behind the times (and I shall be eternally grateful for that), but for me a personality is more than a person. Personality means the characteristics that go to make up an individual's identity, not merely their existence as an individual. As a positive attribute it would have to comprise things like charm and charisma. Imo, Raheem has as much personality as a sullen brick. But what do I know? Perhaps he's the life and soul of those things I never get invited to - parties, I think they're called.
I've just caught up with the club's announcement of the launch of the Supporters Board last week. It will be involved in all fan-facing issues that arise like moving ground or breaking away from the league. The agreement will be written into the club's Articles of Association. Nice bit of news.
How does it work? Assuming one fan gets voted to have a single vote on these issues at board meetings?
There will be 16 members on the supporters board, 10 from SoS and 6 from the other official Liverpool supporters groups like the Disabled Supporters Association and the Women's Supporters Committee. The board will have regular meetings with the club and the Chair of the board will be invited to attend LFC's main board meetings "when any fan-facing strategic matters arise". So that's fan representation at board level. I'd say that's fantastic.
Don't like it's so heavily linked with SoS. Not always seen them as level-headed. Don't feel they really represent me as a supporter.
Tbf it was SoS who pushed for this and they have been at the forefront of fan action against the owners.
You know what's strange to think... Somewhere in the world right now there might be a pregnant woman whose son will one day play alongside James Milner at Liverpool as Milner enters his middle years as a professional.
