It's another clear indication that Mike ashley is far from certain the takeover will happen.

Carrol was released only 2 days ago, so what's changed?

The premier league provided their case? The CAT case was thrown out?

 

My only hope is that is a pay as you play deal but even still it’s a squad place used for a terrible footballer.

Sounds like Bruce has been welcomed in the world of Mike Ashley fully now. Rumours of 12m transfer kitty before sales, Carroll and Gayle awarded new contracts, ah the joys of working for this owner. Bruce will suck it up, he'll never get a better job. I wonder if the fans will afford the same "it doesn't matter what he does, that's a relegation squad" like the other managers when they weren't supported.

I don't think Bruce will have anticipated 12m plus sales fella . I don't think any PL manager of a sound mind thinks that's the budget for the summer of 2021.

He will however gleefully accept being ****ed without vaseline, because he has no choice.

Ashley does this every time. Spends a bit and then spends jack ****. It pissed me off the way he ****ed over Pardew when finishing 5th. Oldest adage, invest when doing well. We finish 5th and sign Vurnon Anita. Just a ****ing joke. I struggle to get as animated now though, its kinda like "Ah Mike's done that again has he"

 

Bit like when we spent £40m on a striker: if we’d done that under any other owner, we’d have been climbing over each other for a look. Not under Mike.
