We have been linked with both of them over the last 12 months. Hamer in the summer and the striker back at the start of January.

 

Excluding the various (8) youth signings, in our 3 seasons in the PL we didn't sign many from English clubs at all. Costa and Harrison who already played for us in the Championship and Dan James who we very nearly signed whilst in the Championship.

 

A colleague I work with supports West Brom. He seems certain Leeds are back in for Corberan and is gutted about it. He said it’s all over the West Brom fans forums. Apparently Corberan has a £2m release clause

 

Oh well it must be true then. I am going to compile a list of 50 possible coaches so i can be right.
Could Corberan be a good fit? Well the fans would back him so no problem there. Depends whoever gets the job on transfer funds being stated early.

 

I think he’d be a good choice. At least he knows the Bielsa fitness regime/training techniques. Also knows the Championship and has first hand knowledge of most teams strengths and weaknesses.

We need to get back to something resembling the Championship winning team’s fitness levels and style of play.

Could do a lot worse than Corberan.

 

U.K clubs want too high a price for players it happens every season. Gykores for 17 million now that is ridiculous he is not proven yet. We have joseph who i think is faster and better than Gelhardt so put him in the first team squad. Gyabi is another who should be ready but i think we need at least two more mids. Do we have any in the 21s?.i have no idea.

 

If he comes then the club must back him without reserve.

 

We have Archie Gray who is quality.

 

They will kick lumps out of him. Needs to be on the bench and protected.

 

He would be my choice.

 

Bate will be loaned or sold when he is fit again.

 

We still have heldje who could cover left back. We need a bigger squad than last time in the championship. Two players for every position without having to put young lads on the bench who are never used.

 

Mate the key is in the title of the thread “Rumours” I’ve seen us linked with Gerrard, Allardyce and Corberan so if you can come up with 47 other candidates then that’s great going.

Allardyce and Gerrard were linked by Trash The Sun, just as on here, fans and those with possible connections to a club are usually a bit nearer to the truth than a red top.

If you don’t like rumours stay away from the thread mate, that’s not a personal dig and I agree 95% of these rumours will be trash so what would you like to talk about for the next 8 weeks.

Echoing my thoughts 100% not to mention he’s ability to coach younger players and if Joseph, Gyabi, Drameh, Gnonto and Perkins are going to feature he’d be ideal

 

Reported on talkSPORT that Allardyce is meeting with Kinnear today but is unlikely to stay. Sounds like he doesn’t want it as thinks the squad is worse than he first thought. Players were never cut out for his type of football. Interesting though was he was unimpressed that they couldn’t get themselves up and put more effort into the last four games to keep us in the prem.

 

I might be wrong but I think West Brom were virtually broke when he joined, he has had no budget he had to work with what he had. Something like second from bottom when he joined after 16 games and finished 9th 3 points outside play off places

 

I'm hearing alot about the kids playing a part next season and rightly so but you can't rely on them.

Imagine a team including Cresswell, Dramah, Hjelde, Gyabi, Gray, Perkins, Joseph, Summerville, Gnonto. They'd just get overwhelmed in the Championship.

If we added the likes of Ryan Manning and Joel Piroe from Swansea and even a couple of older heads like Dan James, Gustavo Hamer and James Milner to lead these guys then I'd be much more confident. You need experience at this level. Grab a couple of 30 year old out of contract players from the PL to come in too for one last hurrah. For example 33 year old left back Aaron Cresswell is available on a free from West Ham. Solid left back, experienced, good leader, good player. Played 28 times this season. Free transfer.

 

I’d not blink at £17m for Gykores, he’s proven at this level and if he’s goals earn promotion to the £200m premier league it’s small change. Many said the same about Watkins, we have to be sensible. What do you class as proven, then throw in what would that cost, then why would they sell and finally why would they join.
