Due to being at foggy Cheltenham today I’ve not backed him but Foolaad is an interesting horse in the first sprint handicap. He’s got the course form and his comeback run wasn’t devoid of interest. Today he’s up against a field which lacks some course form, and I’d suggest that at 6s or thereabouts he is potentially overpriced.
funny , i was having a good look at his form last night and totally agree , he’s definitely overpriced !
1.20 Shamshon Looks overpriced at 14/1. On a good mark and has a good strike rate in this class. Stable amongst the winners recently. Wouldn't be surprised if this one finishes in front of stables more fancied Heart Stopper
Southwell 5.15 Mabre Kept on well after showing signs of inexperience last time at this track. Shrewed stable amongst the winners recently. Could be one for the forecast with the Johnston fav.
5.45 Panatos 1lb below last winning mark. Was 5 l third behind the fav in this last run at this track.Sea of Mystery up 4 lb now. Daniel Muscutt good jockey booking. Wouldn't be surprised if Panatos beats the fav this time.
6.15 Eye Of The Water Connections had much joy with this one during the summer with several runs in the money. Was a good 3rd with this mark 2 runs ago. Unsuited by high draw and the way race developed last time when returning from a break. Today drawn in stall 2 and running in a small field could have an easy lead and sneak a place at least.
6.45 Queen of Rock Run well on handicap debut over 6f when leading for a long way. Step back to 5 furlongs could be the right move. Mark down 7lb. Jimmy Quinn's only ride tonight.
7.15 Sylviacliffs Often runs well at Southwell. Now 5 lb below last winning mark and fitting of headgear could lead to an improved display. Booking of Ben Curtis another plus.
12:30 Fair Alibi - stable record at Southwell over the last 5 seasons: 8 runs 2 wins 2 placed (50 % in the money) - Fair Alibi's form at Southwell: 126 - races with career low handicap mark
I’ve done Limerick Lord in an ew double with whites chocolate at plumpton . The race LL is in is dire, who’s turn is it now to run well , anything could win this , the unreliability of these horses is their only constant !
2.00 Gunnar Moyne CD winner. Surely needed last run coming back from a wind surgery (racing prominently until weakening final furlongs). On a good mark and capable Jockey booked
Southwell 3.30 Saga Sprint Was placed on much higher mark 2 years ago. 4th at Yarmouth 2 runs ago was a step back in the right direction. Not ruled out for me with David Probert taking the ride.
If Murqaab runs again today in the 6.15 after yesterdays 4th place at Wolverhampton I will be on again after writing about this horse yesterday and the run before that Ben Curtis takes the ride today.
Glendevon is one to be interested in today, Scat Daddy is a positive and he’s so well handicapped. The fact that money is around too is a major positive for a yard I like at sunny Southwell.
In the first Casaruan seems to be a danger for all. Was fancied on handicap debut at this track and should improve now up in trip of a low mark.
In the 2.10 Argus looks overpriced. Likes it around Southwell and was a winner here 2 runs ago. Daniel Muscutt a good jockey booking.
