The player's thoughts are always considered with coaching appointments imo. Also I'd like to see Gooch involved, at some point in the future, think he'd be perfect for the academy.

Looks like he became their u18s coach back in January https://www.mfc.co.uk/news/lee-cattermole-appointed-u18s-lead-coach
Correct,, name calling is easy when the guy ain't in front of you. Keyboard warriors and bullshit merchants.
I'm sure we've all been guilty of that or been called that in the past Bob. This is a contentious issues, no one will change their minds and it's just going round in circles tbh. Its just clogging this thread up which is otherwise forward looking and positive. There's a specific thread for all this where anyone interested can slog away at each other. https://www.not606.com/threads/methven-short-and-the-past.401232/
i am turning into a reet owld 'killjoy' here but why are people twisting about the coaches and looking for 'proof' that there is cost cutting still ongoing ffs? there will be reasons, best left to the club, the club is still aiming to keep costs down and it would be mental not to take that approach...promotion changes feck all except it has all become a tad more expensive to run the club with a slight increase in revenue, i honestly cannot see how some fail to grasp this. just leave the club to get on with things and accept that if/when they do something that it is needed and possibly there was no other choice, i do and i find life so much better.
@Bob the Mackem l have to agree with @Smug in Boots in his reply and move on. I have already apologised to one of the members for the wrong end of the stick and this thread should return to it's title. Smug, l might not venture into m-s-and the past, for fear of being shot at dawn
I don't know about Phil Jevons, but I am sure I read that David Preece handed his notice in before the end of last season to pursue a degree course at University in September. The 'Access All Areas' video v Rotherham had all of the players signing a shirt as part of his leaving gift. Apologies to David Preece if I am wrong
exactly, unless one or both actually make statements giving all details (which rarely, if ever happens) then we will never know so pointless complaining and blaming the club, a decision was made for w/e reason, nowt we can do to change it so just move on.
I think you should stop acting like primary school teachers telling posters when they can and can't comment on a thread, and when they need to 'move on'. My response would be 'get ****ed' ,I'll decide what and when to post, thankyou (miss)
I could suggest you stop telling people how to act, especially when the comments weren't directed at you, but I won't. I didn't tell anyone when they can and can't post and didn't tell anyone to move on. TBF, you're quite fond of doing that yourself Porterfield73 said: 'bob, no disrespect mate, but don't post out of the blue stuff when you've had a drink mate.'
With all due respect he's a Boro lad and he's probably happy working close to where he lives. What is this obsession with posters wanting ex players here as coach? Him and Leadbitter were good for us but not brilliant or consistant enough to be labelled as good enough to coach. Same as Phillips (I know you didn't quote him or Leadbitter), he was a great player, until he decided he was off at the end of the season. No managerial experience and has a lot to prove. He's trying that now at South Shields ..... shows other teams weren't impressed with him when he was at Leicester
Not all players can automatically step into coaching and be good at it. Be nice to think we have coaches in the academy, at u18s, ready to step up. That is the way it should be. Be happy for ex players, with a passion, to start and get some experience. I think Danny Collins was doing some coaching with younger age groups last season as part of his coaching qualifications. Maybe he can take on a role somewhere.
