“The partnership is not managed by Nike directly but instead by its affiliate Just Sport Pro Club, which is based in Sunderland.”

So this Just sport take delivery of the shirts, heat transfer all the custom stuff and relay them to the club.

looks like they deal with Birmingham and Pompey as well by the website.

I’ll bet they save a pretty penny doing this rather than have someone embroider the badge

That's the basic principle of it, but I think it might be a bit more of halfway house between this kind of deal and a 'property deal because last season's had the badge picked out in the print of the stripes, which I doubt Just Sport would be able to add in later.

I've never bought a new one, even when the kids were young. I always thought them wildly expensive for what you get. They didn't seem bothered, as long as they had some Sunderland shirt on! They buy their own stuff now and they see it the same way, but to each their own and all that.

On the badge thing though, you would wonder how many times you can wash it before it starts peeling off. Bit cheapskate I'd say.

I've never fully understood grown men's obsessions with football shirts. I have no objection to people wearing them to the match or when playing a game of footy themselves, but surely it's a given that they're all overpriced tat? People seem to get annoyed at whether shirts have a collar or the badge is stitched as if it's suddenly Savile Row suit quality by having these things.

The only thing that I'm bothered about is that it has red and white stripes because that's the identity of the club. As long as they don't fundamentally change that, I couldn't really give a **** what they do with it after that.

    That's great news.

Ironically I think it'll help with the amount of televised games we get, they don’t like empty grounds as a backdrop.

As a minimum. Think we had 23k SC holders last season, then with corporates, away fans and walk ups we regularly got 30,000

Assume that Championship clubs will being more away fans then I think we'll be pushing 40k for most games

PC will be open most games. Really looking forward to next season. The bairn is absolutely buzzing for the Championship. I've tried to tell him I was at the SoL when we spanked Chelsea (and a few others) but he isn't having it. He thinks that was the 'olden days' <laugh><laugh><laugh>

The home and away from the last season of Adidas both came off on mine.
They didn't cost me anything as the sister in law buys me the home for Xmas and Away on my birthday.

There's quite a large community of people who collect football shirts. People do this for a number of reasons but like any kind of hobby, its a matter of personal choice.

People are generally interested in the materials that are used in the badge/logos though because they want to know how robust the item is going to be. That's particularly important to people who are interested in vintage shirts.
