It certainly matters to them. They would be hurt to hear you calling them Chinese or Korean, although being Indonesian they of course wouldn't tell you that and would probably forgive such a racist slur.

I would never refer to them as slaves - they are domestic workers, who get paid comfortably more than the minimum wage, free food and accommodation and 2months holiday a year, with transport.
