Well we didnt get a Target man or the left sided defender after all...

Added good solid players throughout the rest of the squad though.

I can see us being best of the rest again this year with a Europey campaign to contend with aswell

Can't understand why we sent Connolly on loan yesterday. Baines is literally going to have to play every ****ing game......unless Koeman is going to use Garbutt, who's not had a sniff under him?

The failure to buy an experienced No.9 is a massive **** up imo. That team lacks a focal point and now the only player capable of playing that role is DCL. That side is going to struggle to score goals and control possession. Koeman must be spewing this morning

Any inside information on hat happened with Barkley and Chelsea yesterday? The suggestion at the Spurs end is that Moshiri and Abramovic cooked up the whole thing to try an draw Levy into bidding more than £20m. Abramovic hates Levy and would quite readily have agreed to it whilst we were taking Llorente away from them.

Further, there's suggestion that Barkley was never in London and that he let Spurs know what was going on. Hence, no increased bid and it all starts again in January.

The Moshiri Abramovich thing is utter bollocks

Barkley was in London and had been to Cobham. There seems to be some difference of opinion as to whether the Medical had or was taking place though. The bottom line is, that he'd agreed terms, the fee was settled and he'd travelled down to complete the move. The idea that he was playing a game in order to entice Spurs to pay more is a joke tbh. He got spooked and did one, only he knows why.

He only has himself to blame. Chasing Sigurdsson all summer!

At least it appears Walsh is spending for the future.

DCL and Sandro have a heavy workload this season

I would expect to see the best of Sandro in Europe and DCL in the prem.

Better get the striker in the Jan window or it falls apart.

He is not the sharpest tool. If he plays again the Goodison crowd will be behind him, but it won't be a passionate support.

Am I wrong?....you are paying the Manager that left us 3 times what we offered to pay him and your record signing is more than double the value of ours.

Is it double what 'little old southampton' paid as a transfer record? Would have been shocked to hear that as a transfer record for you guys.

Koeman doesn't deserve the money after not getting a bloody striker

Yep, just broke our transfer record in the last window, signing Mario Lemina from Juve for £18m. Our transfer policy is to buy young up and coming players fairly cheaply then sell for a big profit although, as Liverpool found out we may be keeping a few more of them now.

Don't you count Rooney as a striker?, I reckon that you are stronger after the Summer, especially in midfield.

Walsh has been snapping up so good young talent.

But it's not good if we don't have a decent first team to get them aiming for.

    Here we go again eh?
Would of had great odds on a **** 1st half of season and Fat Sam being at the helm.

Question is with an 18 month contract will the club allow Sam to spend much and do they really want his stamp on our squad?

Personally I wouldn't be too shocked if he was paid off in the summer? The only thing that will keep him here for next season is an FA cup win and I can't see us getting past Friday in that tbh...

All in all we are ****ed at the moment... Happy new year lads<cheers>

I agree mate, he was brought in to do a job and barring some completely unexpected and highly unlikely twist i.e. we win a pot or get to the cusp of top 4, then he’ll be packing his bags

I reckon we’ll bring in a minimum of 3 this window - LB, CF and CM
