Ron’s left the forum for personal reasons Swanny, so I guess that means the Virtual betting shop is closed.
Thanks Oddy, yes I had a look around and the reason I was unaware of this was because I don't 'do' Competitions (hard enough to find one or two winners, let alone a bunch of them!) so that's why I got a bit more behind than usual. Secondly, I failed to watch or record the BBC Panorama programme on horseracing, even though Nassau gave us a week's notice that it was coming up! I fully understand Ron's feelings on all this, much of which I share myself. A really horrible subject, but one we all have to face up to. Guess I live in some kind of Heaven where racehorses, good or bad, are allowed to live their lives to the full in a grassy paddock. You know, it can happen to a champion racehorse, a good example being the awful treatment afforded to the great Sea Bird-II in his later life when he retired after his fantastic Arc win in 1965. His owner(s) should have been put in the slammer for the way this great horse was treated. If I'm going to write to a Board member of Wycombe Wanderers, then, by golly, I'd better brush-up on my English!
If you go to YouTube and type in “Panorama the dark side of horse racing” you will find the Programme there.
