Whats more boring? sticking 10 men behind the ball (England) or having 10 men available and moving awaiting a pass. Perhaps you only find it boring because it is some other team doing it. English people are so inbred when it comes to football philosophy and appreciation.
I agree with you in terms of Torres. The manager got lucky here; if Portugal won on penalties he would of got slated. Lucky lucky man.. I can't say im fond of the way Spain play either; and yes the commentators do say silly things one of them called it "succulent football" (One must be thinking that they are eating a fabulous gourmet steak or something -.-) Succulent football.... Nonetheless I have great respect for Spain and I acknowledge that it is a positive way of playing football (and the most successful) and I much prefer it to our England teams defensive display.. Sadly I preferred watching the Germans and Italy today though. Much more enjoyable than both styles I have mentioned above.
"Spain are now so scared of making a mis ..........," er, oh no, they've just beaten Italy 4-0. Perhaps I'm talking bollocks!
Was refreshing to see Spain actually try and score more than 1 goal for once, actually put on a show.
Really enjoyed today's match; Nice to see Torres coming on in the 70th minute (2 goals up) to see if he could get a goal. Happy that Spain won. Never thought I would be before the match.
You can call that anything but boring... It's scary that Spain can come in to a final, move in to fifth gear and walk over an opponent like that. That was an incredible display, massive kudos to Spain.
We've known how good Spain are for more than 4 years. The frustration has been that they have been able to dominate possession so much that they've waited and waited and waited and then scored. 1-0 win after 1-0 win. Tonight they finally put in a performance to match their talent and with only 53% possession. Football isn't about possession, it's about what you do with it, creating chances and scoring goals. Finally, Spain have lived up to their potential.
Nope, not talking bollocks. Throughout the tournament, they held the ball because they were afraid of losing it. Having reached the final, they lost their inhibitions at last, and showed what they were capable of.
