    Football is more like a cattle market nowadays.The problem for NE is that any kid with talent near Preston is snapped up by the bigger clubs with more extensive scouting tenticles and more dosh to offer. Even a club like West Ham is having difficulty maintaining the quality of its youth teams being surrounded by Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs. In the 90's NE had a marvellous guy to spot talent but he left with Moyes or Davies.

    There is some speculation that a young winger from Norwich is join NE on loan. I think you have better contacts, Maclad, than the lags on LEP. Any truth in this. There is a saying that 'speculaion adds no new knowledge'. And it is a good one...stops indulging in useless rumour.
