Said this as soon as the second half started. To be fair though... No! No! Bad Susan, baaaaad Susan!!
I loved the days of Kenneth Wolstenholme and his 'oh my' exclamation when George Best had just beaten 10 players and rolled the ball into goal. Coleman used to have a very brisk style. Often 'name' and 'score' - thus greatest commentary of all time "Stokes. 1-0" ! I find the need to tell me that a piece of skill was extraordinary annoys me. Even if your football experience was limited to kickabouts with mates you know hitting a ball accurately as it comes across you, for example, is bloody difficult and so when you see a pro player do it you can admire the skill. I don't need the analysis.I accept the skill level even in the lower leagues is above us mere mortals, let alone stuff I can see in the PL.
"John PFC Westwood is a character"...no he isn't, he is an annoying flea ridden soap dodging bell-end that stinks of urine. Still, he doesn't get on the TV much these days..
“ Shane Long is coming on.......hasn’t scored for 3 years .........replacing Ings whose on 29 for this season”
I had an idea that we need a “most disliked commentators” poll on here but we’d definitely need at least 10 selections each. Might be a bit long tho but have a sneaking Alan twat Smith would win by a mile at the moment
Mostly everything they say, I had to mute the United game, which I believe was the most biased commentating I have every had to listen to. Only thing they did not mention was the infamous Leicester game, but then they would have had to acknowledge that Saints were actually playing. The other thing that was ironic, was that the one commentator said that United played well here mid week, he was so far up United's arse, he thought he was at Old Trafford.
I heard that last part too. I usually laugh or think it’s good when we don’t get any attention (fly low, so to say) however Sunday was shocking. I nearly wrote to Sky to tell them I am cancelling h my prescription and they’ll never see another penny from me again. Then I realised I did that a couple of years ago and they’ve not seen a penny from me since.
Living in the states, cable subscription is the only way to watch Saints play, I just use the mute button, which is getting worn out this season.
Every time Ian Darke does a little laugh to himself after he thinks he said something funny. It really irritates me, him being a skate might have something to do with it.
I have to say that I love Green's dry sense of humour and the fact that he does not mind saying that something is particularly dreadful. I think that he is easily the best commentator on the radio although I have not heard him for a long while. I think thought that Jimmy Armfield was really authoritative. Of the contemporary co-commentators I have to say I like Dion Dublin best of all.
