I'd love to argue about this Lardi, but it sounds absolutely nailed on. I'd be a bit less cynical if it wasn't for Jim White being led so successfully (and lots of us following) by the RD propaganda machine back in january. No names. No pack drill. Sadly, no deal.
Patsy did add that he had texted the Belgian about any truth in this rumour, …… the Belgian texted back that he had received an offer but he does not get involved in sale negotiations as he has people in the UK (De Turkey) who look after that for him …. so he is taking the sale very seriously then
And it was , what, two days ago that Duchatalet said he wouldn't lower his price. So 30m was what he wanted all along?
This is Chicago Addick's guess of a banker with football experience -- "Everton director Keith Harris is one name that instantly comes to mind. "
A cracking read. I could even understand most of it (a lot of accountancy type talk usually goes over my head).
Excellent comments from Dave White I have personally congratulated him via another medium - the only voice of sanity & modesty throughout this whole process. Put his own cash in as well - certain braggarts & newbies could learn a thing or too from David.
We know the game now. It's so obvious it's laughable. Big game coming up (maximise bums on seats)? Fans getting a bit restless? Got some season tickets to flog? Start another take-over rumour But the magic has worn off. This trick doesn't work anymore except on the clinically gullible.
The Aussie beer meeting aficionado has claimed that RD turned down a £35m offer for the club this week.
David White doesn't believe that the take-over has ever been close, and Roland's stubbornness is the overriding factor.
VOTV comes out every month. Charlton only play Portsmouth at the Valley once a season. They only play Sunderland at the Valley once a season as well. Not a coincidence at all I suspect, that we have had take-over stories on the eve of both of these games. I believe quite a few members on CL said that they broke their boycott and went to the Sunderland game specifically because they believed the Club was only a day or two from being sold. Somehow I don't think too many of them will be coming to the Pompey game for the same reason.
Everitt always goes into hyperbole mode in the days before publication. It happens every month. He’s used up his “Done deal” and white smoke coming from chimneys and Varney with the towelheads, so tomorrow could be a challenge ...
