Its becoming popular for French players in the Prem to do the 'Quenelle', Anelka, Nasri and Sakho have all made the gesture, how will you feel if Sagbo does the same if he scores at Anfield?

French Muslim does covert political symbol message which may offend French liberals or Hebrews.

    No one else really bothered.

Move along there! Nothing to see.

Rien ne vas plus. Les jeux sont faits.

The problem is that people can't show their dislike for an oppressive nation/religion just because some 70 odd years ago bad sh*t happened to theirs.
And to even have an opinion on Israelie politics can see you as anti semitic - which in many European countries -( still wringing their hands after years of inaction in the 30s )
will have you thrown in the slammer to - somehow soothe politicians hearts .

    yes its bollocks .

Even when they explained what it referred to (some brownbread rapper/comic known to French Mohammedans), I still struggled to stay awake/be offended/give a ****.

Anyone got any Schumy jokes yet?

No but one of my favourite all time jokes followed Ayrton Senna's death:

    Q) What have Elton John and Ayrton Senna got in common?
    A) They've both got skidmarks on their helmet.

What makes this joke funnier is I overheard a very young schoolboy - who I'm sure didnt quite get why it was funny - tell it on a bus. I struggled to hide my laughter.

I'm a little shocked by what I'm reading. Te English media decree to report this without actually knowing **** about it. Dieudonne is a black comedian who used to be quite liked by everyone . He used to have an act with a famous Jew called elie semoun. Gradually over the years his act became more and more political and he started pushing political correctness. live on tv , in his act etc... I don't have a list (you can look it up yourself) of all the things he said and did but this guys is a proper fascist. He is hiding behind ambiguity and denying the true meaning of his words etc but he has said worse things than Roy chubby brown. Amongst other things " you make me regret the end of the shoah" to a fellow Jewish comedian.

So don't downplay this quenelle business. That's what the English media hve done because anelka downplayed its meaning. It's definitely anti Semitic.

Dieudonne has now bought his own theatre so he can perform and spout out racist remarks in peace.

I'm an atheist so none of this concerns me but the French meda aren't over reacting and they would know best I think. This guy is creating a fascist movement and covering it up with bullshit and "humour".

    No because we're not French.

That's like asking an Algerian (random nationality... Don't think too much into it) if he knows who Louis CK is?

Or if an American knows who Lee Mack is. Does the person have to be well known for it to be disrespectful?

On the topic of Schuey jokes, although I don't condone jokes in poor taste whilst the ordeal is still ongoing but I got told one: "Finally, Hill wins in battle against Schumacher" Probably a million on Sickipedia.

At the risk of drifting this somewhere I'd rather it didn't go.

As it's political, wouldn't it be more anti-zionist than anti-semitic or racist?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/quenelle

    Quenelle recipes
A finely minced fish or meat mixture formed into small portions, poached in stock and served in a sauce, or as a garnish to other dishes. The term is also used to describe the decorative shape of the portions – a neat, three-sided oval (resembling a mini rugby ball) that is formed by gently smoothing the mixture between two dessert spoons. A quenelle shape can also be formed from other foods such as chocolate mousse.
