Posts unnecessarily referencing Brexit and refugees have been deleted and anyone attempting to drag these unrelated issues in again will be removed from the thread.

That way, hopefully, this thread will last longer than the last one.

How Hull Moodbeam device is supporting the wellbeing of NHS staff

The wearable technology is being trialled across a Devon GP practice
A wearable “mood” device developed by a Hull health technology company is being used in trials aimed at supporting the wellbeing of NHS workers.

Moodbeam, originally designed as a wristband and now also available in a clippable format, is being employed in an eight-week trial at a GP practice in Devon, which will see the entire clinical and non-clinical team of 70 employees using the cutting-edge self-reporting tool.

The trial at Amicus Health has come about as a result of a partnership between Moodbeam and Agencia’s Primary Care Direct, a business that provides tailored support services to more than 85 primary care networks, equating to more than 600 GP practices.

Christina Colmer McHugh, co-founder and director at Moodbeam, said: “We all know it can be quite hard to raise issues at work, especially if you are having a tough time, but self-reporting prompts allow staff to simply track how their day is going and report indirectly to managers and HR.

To get the Hull Live headlines every day, simply pop your email address into the sign-up box just beneath the picture at the top of this article.

“Our dashboard combines this information and gives employers real-time feedback from staff – and especially throughout 2020 and the pandemic, being able to get this information from staff quickly without relying on appraisals or carrying out surveys will have been crucial.

“The most important thing we do at Moodbeam is to give a voice to employees within their organisation and make sure support is provided and that they do not reach crisis point in relation to mental health and wellbeing before employers are aware.

“After more than six months of restrictions and additional health pressures on the NHS, many GPs and their teams are understandably feeling the strain and we’re really pleased to be working with Primary Care Direct to support the NHS via these trials.”

The revolutionary Moodbeam One device that allows the user to log how they feel in the moment through the simple pushing of one of two buttons. The information is tracked within Moodbeam’s companion app and provides the user with visualisations of mood information that can help the user identify personal triggers and patterns.

Kiran Johnson, co-founder at Primary Care Direct, said: “The NHS People’s Plan places a heavy emphasis on staff wellbeing and the most important thing we can do in our business is to support the wellbeing of general practice teams, so this is the perfect opportunity to trial new ways of working, and we’re excited to be embarking on this adoptive trial of the Moodbeam One.

“We will be using the devices as a supplementary tool to our wellbeing procedures within the business.”

Moodbeam was launched in 2016 by the Gadget Shop founder and Red5 co-founder Jonathan Elvidge, and former journalist Mrs Colmer McHugh, who came up with the idea after her daughter became anxious at school.

The device won the Innovation Partnership Award at the 2019 Barclays Entrepreneur Award

If you've ever had a proper case of flu, you'll know that you can't get off the couch, never mind get to a test centre. How come they can't find a vaccine for a virus that's killed by hot water? No wonder the conspiracy theorists are having a field day.

All the experts calling for a full lockdown and most people agreeing with it get full pay if full lock happens or are told to isolate.
All the rest of us are in danger of getting just sick pay our losing our jobs. I'm sure they might change there mind if got the same as the rest of us

Most seem to think London will be in Tier 3 within the next two weeks.

Of course they’re speculating that, because they’re ****ing idiots. These are the same people that believe that the earth is flat and that this entire thing has been created to make Donald Trump look bad.

Testing centres aren’t the only place you can get a test. More people are getting them from the workplace or at home. Pharmacies do them through the NHS.
Anything on social media is almost certainly horseshit.

That’s the system we chose, though. Money is more important than people dying, why don’t people understand this? As long as the economy is alright, who gives a **** if you lose your job or a few hundred people die everyday? It’s about the money, man.

In all seriousness though, how much is one job worth vs somebodies life? Anybody can go and get another job, you can’t get another life if you lose it.

I honestly don't know of any workplaces near me who are testing their employees.By and large and in my honest humble opinion, most workplaces couldn't give a frog's fat ass about their workers.

Profits come first nowadays and sadly the workforce is expendable. To be told 7 months into a pandemic that you need to wear a face-covering if you want a piss,a walk in a corridor or a cup of tea sort of bears testament to my conclusion.

Personal question...Are you being tested at School?

Nobody wants people to die and nobody wants the economy to collapse, so there'll always be a trade-off between lives lost and jobs lost to Covid as unpalatable as that may seem.

If anyone is guilty of trade-offs,it's us,the working man striving to make ends meet?I'd lost my agency job prior to lockdown and lived off £74.35 a week(contribution based JSA).As soon as work came my way I put aside any fear and went back....not for the Government, not for the Greedy Employer, but for me and my ever decreasing bank balance and mental health...

Tricky bit is killing the virus without killing the patient. The vaccine is supposed to sensitize the immune system to recognize and fight the virus using the body's defenses. If the immune system rapidly "forgets" the virus then repeated vaccinations would be necessary (at best) or the vaccine is ineffective (at worst). Without an animal model to do tests on (haven't heard anything about this but would be primates so maybe being kept quiet), testing on humans is slow due to ethical considerations. Hope it comes soon.

We were given 10 tests when all schools were (which coincided with everybody struggling to book a test in September) but we haven’t used them. Thankfully, and I hope this continues, we’ve yet to have a case.

Some schools are taking temperature recordings. Some aren’t. Some are letting primary school children wear masks in corridors. Some aren’t.

So it's obviously being managed on a local level then?(ie:-The School makes it's own decisions). In my area there were 4 schools where teachers had tested positive, obviously it's very difficult to pinpoint how they got it but common sense would tell me the kids?

I think schools and workplaces are causing the spread?
