Any thoughts on the QPR game Alex.? And also the fine performance of the young lads at Doncaster. Surely Batty for one deserves some playing time with the big boys. Hughes and others seem to think he's ready for the first team, particularly given our injuries and transfers in mid-field. Slutsky must have been impressed.

Thanks for another informative discussion Alex with Brad and Dan. Good to hear you coming through loud and clear this time, although you did tend to fade a bit as the proceedings wore on. Any chance of getting rid of the blacksmith forging Excalibur in the background on the next podcast.??? It did become a bit distracting at times in the middle of the broadcast.

In general I think you were spot on with your thoughts on the new signings and the outlook for this season. Three excellent young loanees from Chelsea at the back, along with Kingsley and Mazuch, and the return of a healthy McGregor and a hopefully fit Dawson, have certainly alleviated early concerns about our back line.

In mid-field you all sounded very positive on the Toral signing, and of course your compatriot Jackson Irvine, which along with Larsson and Meylers experience in mid-field and Henricksen, Evandro,, and hopefully Stewarts, return to fitness , has given us good depth and helped offset the loss of Clucas and Huddlestone.

Up front the probable season long loss of Hernandez, has left us without a top goalscorer, although the signings of Campbell and Dicko, the emergence of young Bowen as a real scoring threat, and Grosickis speed, gives us some good options, along with Diomande, so perhaps we are better off up front than looked likely a few weeks ago.

I'd tend to agree that if Slutsky can get the best out of our new players and the holdovers, and the squad avoids serious injuries, we are definitely contenders for a play-off spot although automatic may be a step too far. Its going to be an interesting season. Good luck lads!!

Thanks mate! Sorry if I faded. I've adjusted my volume in the touch up afterwards so hopefully a bit clearer from now on. Yeah Dan has a parrot in the background I believe, he's happy to chuck the mic on mute when not talking so hopefully that'll minimise any background noise. Missed these comments when you first chucked them up, sorry for not responding before now. About to chuck up the main ep for the week. :)

Great ep this week with Logan as we chat about the Bolton result, some interesting comments from Grosicki following the end of the window, and then a big clash with Derby Saturday.

Although there's talk there about competition for Grosicki how much cover do we have in a specialist left wing position? I think he should put up or shut up. You can't just depend on reputation like he seems to, he needs to put in good performances week in week out to show he is as good as he says he is.

I think we could start Diomande on the left where he has looked good, or shift Bowen to the left and play Toral on the right.

This week we talk the draw with Sunderland, and what's the go with our line up at the moment? Dawson brings up 100 City games, while Bowen is taking the league with storm. Reading and Preston are the upcoming games discussed.

Huge episode this week as Brad and I discuss Slutsky's start at the KCOM, what's going wrong, and how we fix it. Two dismal results with a pretty big game around the corner. Plus Bowen re-signs!! Some positive news at last!

Yes I agree Alex. This was definitely one of your best podcasts and I'd like to say that Brad once again was very good with his analysis. And lets hope his forecast of a big win over Birmingham tomorrow is as good as most of his previous prognostications. We certainly need a big confidence booster, as this Forum over the past two weeks has been about as a gloomy as I remember it in recent years.

Just a couple of comments. Firstly I don't recall you saying much if anything about McGregors recent performances in goal. As a big Jakupovich fan I was very unhappy when we sold him pre-season and anticipated a major weakness in goal this season. But, apart from his kicking, always a problem with him in the past, McG has so far exceeded my expectations and been an excellent shot-stopper in goal. I just hope he stays healthy. Secondly, like you, I'm delighted that the Allams have given young Jerrod Bowen an extended improved contract. He's been one of the few major positives in the squad this season, and is leading the Championship in goals scored, and clearly has a great future....hopefully with Hull City.

Thirdly you discuss the strange case of Diomande, who hasn't had a look in since his solid performance against Bolton. Last season Diomande impressed me with his hard work, particularly covering back on the left wing, and given our weakness defensively this year on both wings I'm surprised that he hasn't been called on from the bench later in games.

Clearly Slutsky is still trying to find his best combination of players, a task made more difficult by the up and down performances of players such as the Chelsea loanees, notably Hector, Grosickis unpredictability, and the disappointing displays of Hendricksen and Kingsley, to name but two from which much more was expected. But his record with CSKA and the Russian national team suggest that he is in fact a top-class coach, who just needs more time to get us moving up the table. Lets hope tomorrow is the start of better things.

Great point! I'm a big McGregor fan so I should mention him a bit more. I guess we get so fixated on what's going on in the outfield we forget to mention that he's doing such a solid job in goal.

Thanks again for your feedback as always. :)

Got the big win right Brad but a bit pessimistic on the score weren't you.? The Bowen scoring machine keeps right on banging them in. And still no minutes for Dio. Is he injured...or what?

Lets hope today was the turning point in our season. After two weeks rest they should be raring to go at Norwich!!.

Brad and I chat a disappointing draw with Norwich, as well as look ahead to Barnsley, but the main topic is speculation about who should be inducted in the Hall of Fame.
