    Hello my friends.

Yesterday, I went for my 6 monthly cancer check up. after a run of low PSA scores following 3 years of challenging treatments, I am delighted to tell you that my consultant believes that I am now cured! Though, of course he is unable to promise that it wont return.

How uplifting to hear the words for the first time..." ..South Coast Old Gaffer..., a wonderful recovery,I think we can say that you are now cured!"

It was quite a journey & I know that I am one of the lucky ones.

Now I plan to drive up to Suffolk, a 6 hrs round trip this, and come to the Blackpool game, my first for ages.

Cant wait to sniff the air, smell the dubbin (!), and feel the excitement.

Town will have to win to complete my celebrations. I am going 2-0, dont give a flying f...k who scores, just another win to go back top.

    COYBs

PS have we had any news of the other fan who was going thru tests?

Very happy for you SCG long may it continue.

Sadly my lot is less positive, I have had 6 sessions of BCG and 9 sessions of heated mytomicin (chemo) which has not worked I now start a course of intensive radiotherapy every weekday for four weeks beginning Thursday 28th and ending 27th December!

Excellent news South Coast, congratulations and i hope the Town give us something further to cheer about this weekend.

CanaryDave, sorry to hear about that - hopefully the intensive radiotherapy will help put you on the road to a full recovery :)

It will give you lots of help, encouragement, and ways to help you manage all the stuff going on in yr life. Best of luck mate, and do let us know how it goes.

Great news Gaffer I've just had the results from my annual PSA test and all is well, I have this blood test every year because this bastard disease killed my Dad and my brother contracted it fortunately he is cured.
Sorry to hear what you're going through Dave, our best wishes for the future.
