I can see an argument to drop Wyke i must admit. 5 games without a goal now and his misses yesterday were crucial in the way the result went. He has played a lot of games and to me looks out of sorts

Despite the drop in the quality of service to him, Wyke still looks confident to me, hence the attempted chip. No way would I drop him unless it was to accommodate a new system that didn't suit him, but. . . can't imagine it.
But this idea that his head has gone is laughably wrong.

As I intimated in my earlier post we need to get back to good crosses from the byline for him to run onto and either head or kick the way he is facing using the pace on the ball to beat the keeper. Stewart may settle in to be our main striker but he isn't there yet.

Been driving daughter number 2 back to University today so apologies for late reply.

I agree it’s a matter of opinion which makes for discussion and keeps the board ticking along.
If we all agreed, let’s be honest it’d be a bit **** wouldn’t it?

Wyke isn’t the most naturally gifted, granted.

I wish we still had strikers of the calibre we’ve had previously, but we don’t.

Citizen Smith (apologies to those not around in late 70s) is suggesting a lack of effort - which just clearly isn’t true.

We are in League One and have several players of that standard - but they are busting a gut to get us promoted and I for one am right behind every one of them.

As you say it’s about opinions, so please feel free to air yours.

if we make the play offs are we allowed to sign players at that time ? or there could be a couple of canny players out of contract. I would start Stewart and Wyke up front for the rest of the season, i think we can win all our away games by the way

Set up last two games with a defensive centre midfield and we struggle to get wingplay going and our centre forward struggles for service.

Set up with probing midfielders and it gives the opposition midfield something more to do then cover our wingers.

We are also too dependent on our right wing and we weren't back in February.

The problem isn't Wyke or Geads it is starting team selection and LJ has got it wrong for the last two games.

Wolfy and a small minority of posters howling at the moon , at this stage of the season how can you consider dropping the best striker at the club , even the very best top strikers have a goal drought . Wigan on Tuesday would be an ideal time to silence those that criticise and we need to be supportive of our players , Amos is a highly rated keeper and made a number of great saves which could have resulted in a very different outcome . LJ has to come up with the correct game plan to ensure we get back to winning ways on Tuesday to bring us back in to contention for one of the automatic promotion places STAY CALM -STAY LOYAL .

for this game i think we are stronger so Starting with Charlie is an option if he can bang one in, but LJ has some serious thinking to do before the team sheet goes in just hope it comes good for him

liked your post mate i have seen a number of posts with some very good ideas i was quite surprised with Draigs post, some very good ideas and solutions which i agree with, CLOCKY also mentioned a team selection that i think would work great i like wolfies team pick also, lots of differing ideas , and all of us wondering just what LJ will decide to do. desperat for the win, all the younger potential Sunderland supporters like your daughters will get behind a winning team, like the mags did under Keegan, i have spent a lot of years waiting for the good times to start rolling 73 was the last time i was ecstatic the wins over the mags were joyous especially when we sent them down and 6 in a row, so dust down fresh start and here is hoping for a win haway the lads

My daughter has been brought up correctly mate. She knows despair and fleeting moments of ecstasy.

She is a dyed in the wool season ticket holder.

    Entirely my fault

nice to hear mate a few of my sons friends have lost interest in the club but haven't spoken to them since the change over and they have found other things to support
i live in Germany but trying to move back its taking loads of time to organise also finding the right house, My son and his friends were 20 strong however due to commitments normally only mustered 15 actually there but they loved the match

Why do my emojis go above, instead of below my post?
I type and then press the emoji thingy and everything...
I’m not good at this technology at all
