Fan boy mito didn't know lallana was on until 30mins in... worst... performance... ever... I've a puking baby boy at home so didn't check team sheets

I watched and went oh lallana.. he's playing? wow...

Fan boy mito loved his shot that was saved only for super mario to blaze two goal heights over the bar for 8 yards... koala tea. Lallana is a home player IMO.

our break away set up... bar super mario was good... .when coutinho came on. he was left, sterling right and from any set piece they were just lashing out... so dangerous... just needs a competent player to support in the centre... we've none bar sturridge.

well we are 5th and Man Utd defence looks even worse than ours - though how that is possible i'm not sure after yesterday.
the hope is the new team (cos it is a almost a totally different team from just over a year ago) starts to gel but i still worry about our signings and the drain of CL on although a bigger squad (and better squad) but still not probably good enough to compete on both fronts

You've misunderstood my point. I have nothing against having an opinion on a player, I have nothing against slagging off our own players. But I do have something against doing that before giving them a proper chance to prove themselves. Last year up till about December we were still wondering if Aspas had what it took, or if Moses could be better in a better system. We gave Allen years, and we don't make entire threads (See the Mario Balotelli one that is up on the front page right now) where we act like absolute dickheads towards one of our own players. Go read through it. Is that proportional to the 6 games he's played? 6. Not 6 months, 6 games.

Let me post some quotes from that thread.

"Who can we ship him off to on January 1st?"
"One of the worst players to ever pull on the shirt."
"Time to write off the 16 mil in Han and release on a free to seria b"
" Rather than signing Mario, we should have just kept Andy Carroll "
" he's f**ing useless and clueless, worse even than I could have imagined. "
"Any one of us would put in a better shift than this f**ing idle, self centred tosser. "
"Fail, fail, fail. Sell, sell, sell. And f** off Balotelli you useless sack of s**t. "

**** off, that sort of **** is disgraceful. He's played 6 games and I'll repeat that one more time for you all since half of the people on that thread seem to not grasp that concept. 6 games.

Of course a striker's form can't be down to poor service which he's almost universally gotten since he arrived, right? It's not perhaps the insistence of Rodgers to play a single striker system that we have struggled with for years or his stubbornness in playing a double pivot/Gerrard in the DM role? Maybe the inexperience of the defence and the defending midfielders leading to a less fluid, attacking game, lowering Balotelli's chances of getting the ball in a preferred position?

So I'll say it again, half of you need to get a grip. Balotelli isn't playing well. He's not scored. He looks uninterested. But everyone and their dog has known that he doesn't play well as a single striker yet for some reason known only to Rodgers he is being played as a single striker. He isn't the worst player to play in Liverpool colours and he isn't the end of our season.

    Think about it.

we just have to hope ballo sorts himself out quicker than crouchy managed to, as we cant afford to go 15 games of that ****e again.

i sort of get the argument not a lone striker, but the amount these twats get paid nowdays you should expect nothing but 100% commitment each game whether your happy or not to play where your put, just think of those wages you ****s earn!!!

****ing disgraceful the half arsed efforts we see from most footballers now days, wake the ****s up if their was a clause in their contract to counter that ****e!

    Well said.

I'm not a Mario fan nor did I want us to sign him but I think he's being unfairly criticised.

He certainly does deserve some level of criticism as do most of our squad. The lad is being asked to play as a lone striker, a role that he is simply not suited to. It's like asking Lambert to play like Suarez.

The criticism should be aimed at Rodgers for a) signing Mario and b) continuing to play him as the lone striker.

they all deserve a lot of critism.

I'm sorry but the lad is 24, morientes when he game was past it and worked like a dog to try. this boys sole effort is to be quiet with refs it seems. he is just so lazy when it comes to the basics. If he did the basics and we could say ok ok yeah lone striker aint working but he's putting his shift in then he'd be getting lots of applause every game coming off tired.

I do agree.. rodgers deserves a bit slap for the worst singing since carroll and not changing it. badontelly has 2/3 options to play with and thus far no sing of any of them.

thats my quote... i stand by it. Yes if we built the whole side round badontely and gave him a strike partner to play off and lay it on a plate he might socre what 2 goals.

sunday he fell over one, blazed one a mile over at an open goal and fired 2/3 badly wide that he should've passed.

if he'd got balls he'd be buzzing round on the half way line closing own and getting involved. at least he'd open his gob and demand the ball off sterling and lallana... btw lallana was disasterously bad v qpr... but nobodys lashed him cos he actually works a bit.

for the record badontelly is near enough as bad as andy carroll... he might have a bit more pace but he is less of a threat.

wht we needed from "super mario" sunday was a man willing to stand up to the cbs and take it in, hold it up and give the defenders someone to hit rather than mindlessly smack it anywhere.

we got none of it so............... in my book mario balotelli is already judged. nothing anyone says will change that.

He is just so heavily scrutinized, one of the reasons I didn't want him was because of the absolute obsession with the man.

Every time he touches the ball, no matter what he does there will be a replay and analysis on it - every ****ing touch. Bores the hell out of me.

I genuinely don't think he has been as bad as people have made out but as he gets more desperate and tries lashing one in from anywhere rather than get his head up the worse it will be, Rodgers needs to tell him to just play his game and it will come.
