Will be the best stadium in the Championship, following the 10pts deduction & being sued for £400 million ! How Citeh dodge it beggars beyond belief ?
When Leicester get their share will they be paying off the local contractors that they stiffed when the stadium was being built?
King Power bought the club from it's then owner Milan Mandric - the amount paid would have covered any existing creditors iwed at that time but has absolutely nothing to do with any ownership pre- Mandaric - the building of the stadium pre-dated Mandric's ownership - if you found out that somebody that owned your house before the occupants that you bought it off still owed a local plasterer for some work on the house, would you be settling those costs? I very much doubt it. You've always had problems with Leicester City (or me) and seem to want to detract from one of the greatest underdog stories in football at every available opportunity... but you don't come across as petty and disingenuous at all
The bottom line is Leicester City has a checkered past and a history of not paying its creditors, along with its own "brush" with FFP, which resulted in a payment being made when you gained promotion to the PL. It's not quite the fairytale you would have us believe, so some Leicester fans getting giddy at Everton's current plight is pretty rich!
So in the interests of complete clarity, can you just confirm that, in 1984, when Charlton Athletic went into administration and were subsequently bought out of it (just as Leicester City were close to 20 years later) the New Consortium paid off every creditor that existed under the old ownership? I'll save you the bother - you went into administration and were close to a winding-up owing more than a £1million - you were bought out of administration for about £300k - so obviously not ... So your relative success, I.e your Premier League years, were completely built on the back of not paying creditors in the mid 80s ... #HypocritesRUs PS I take no pleasure in Everton's current plight - nor any other club - although it is probably fair to say that we would have stayed up last season if Everton's owners had taken the FFP cumulative rules as seriously as our owners did - but, as I've said previously- sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forwards - and I'm much happier with the sate of my club and its' prospects than I was last year at this time ...
this thread was and should still be about tobes. not cheap arguments. I would suggest mods on this board close it or move this argument to an Everton ffp thread.
I did think that but **** it, it's supposed to have been people giving condolences not an Everton bashing Fred
He died time ago now mate the condolences would be late and well hes gone now so a bit pointless 3 years later. Better to let this thread find its way rather than stand here like a depressing monument. Tobes loved a good argument i think we should honor that ans celebrate that oart of him. Just my 2p
