Conor Masterson scored tonight for Ireland U21's in a 3-1 away win in Sweden in the U21 qualifiers. He scored a header from a corner in the 90th minute. Not many of our players score international goals. The last I remember was Paul Smyth when he made his debut for Northern Ireland about 2 years ago.
Love him or.loathe him, there's no denying how good he is...... Cristiano Ronaldo breaks Robbie Keane's scoring record Sharethis page please log in to view this image Ronaldo also scored four goals against Andorra in 2016 It was another record-breaking night for Cristiano Ronaldo, despite Robbie Keane's best efforts to steer him away. The Juventus forward netted four goals as Portugal beat Lithuania to take his overall tally to 25 in European qualifying - two more than the previous record set by former Republic of Ireland striker Keane. Before the match, Keane asked Ronaldo to "leave this one" after pointing out the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was two goals away from his record. "I think you have enough records, Cristiano!" Keane joked on Instagram. But after scoring against his 150th different team for club and country, there was no stopping Ronaldo netting his eighth international hat-trick and stealing the limelight. Ronaldo has now scored 93 international goals, 16 behind Iran legend Ali Daei's world record in men's football and is also the first European to score 90 goals for his country. What other international records does Ronaldo hold? Ex-Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane congratulated Ronaldo on Instagram The 34-year-old is the leading scorer in European Championships. He has netted 34 goals in total - including nine in final tournaments, which is also a joint-record with Frenchman Michel Platini. Those goals came in four successive tournaments - 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 - with one in the semi-final victory over Wales during Portugal's title-winning campaign three years ago. No other European has scored more goals in competitive international fixtures, with Ronaldo netting 72, including the first goal and a hat-trick in the Nations League Finals when he put three past Switzerland in the last four in June. And his tally of 30 goals in European World Cup qualifying is another record. Who has Ronaldo scored against? Ronaldo has netted against an impressive 150 different teams while playing for clubs and country. Just under a third of those have been against other nations (40), while just 17 have been in friendly matches. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has a knack for leaving it late too, with 26 of his 93 international goals coming in the last 15 minutes. He has scored more goals with his head (25) than with his left foot (22) and in the 61 games he has scored in, Portugal have gone on to lose just five of them, winning 51. Interestingly - outside of penalty shootouts - Ronaldo has never scored against European giants France, Germany, Italy or England. He has scored five goals against Andorra, Armenia, Latvia and Sweden - more than any other nation.
I have a Patrick Thistle supporting mate (honest) that’s not the point of the post. He said last night he thought Kakay was really good and if he can’t get a game at QPR then the Scottish championship is even ****tier than he expected because he looked like the classiest player on the pitch
Mate, I've seen Partick play this season (before Kakay joined) and they are ****e! They were 2-0 up at half time and managed to lose 3-2 against Greenock Morton, my local team - it's Conference level at best. You should tune in to BBC Scotland one Friday evening for the live game - it'll be an eye-opener I promise. It's very physical, and the refereeing is abysmal, crowds are very low (Mortons average attendance is below 2000), but it's honest. No prima-donnas diving all over the place, very little back-chat to the refs (although they get absolute dogs abuse from the terraces), the players generally put a good shift in, and you get the occasional flash of brilliance. Here's the highlights from that game, mostly filmed from the Cowshed, where I stand....Some quality defending!!
Only just checked this score as I was busy and just forgot, WTF? If Carlsberg did WTF scorelines Probably end 3-4 after 12+ minutes added time
I have to say that I really like Ian Wright as a pundit more and more. There! I’ve said it! Alan Shearer on the other hand...
It’s weird, innit? I’ve always had a soft spot for Morton ‘cos of their blue & white hoops, yet think Reading are a bag of hairy bollocks.
They were the very first team I followed, 1961, I'd stayed with an auntie in Moreton in the Wirral, when I saw football results on a Saturday afternoon there was a Morton! I didn't know the difference. I believe they played in pinstripes back then...
The wife's family is from montrose Every time I went there I used to call the town Montrose nil They mostly took it in good fun
last nights game was hard viewing. These teams are petrified of losing. Villa copying Huddersfield adventure going forward. Abject
