After winning 10 in a row to have auto promotion in their own hands they bottled it twice. They were poor last night and eventually got suckered. Benrahma will be gone for sure plus one or two others, he will be hard to replace. Could they end up being permanent bridesmaids?...
This really did look like their very best opportunity. They have a few players who will be interesting to Premier clubs and it will be interesting to see what happens with their team during the close season. I’m sure those key players will have felt they missed out on their opportunity big time and will want to be off and try themselves at the top level. However Brentford have proven themselves very good at replacing players who leave for good money. If they don’t make the play-offs again next season they will definitely feel they have missed the boat for a few years and need to rebuild.
They’ll have half a dozen replacements for the front three lined up ready to go and their subs aren’t bad at all. The kid Forss looked brilliant on loan at Wimbledon. Bringing in Jansson shows they aren’t completely wedded to the buy low sell high Football Manager routine and they’ll have plenty to spend even if just Watkins and Benrhama go. Probably a great bet for promotion if the price drifts after they do.
Arsenal announce 55 redundancies to save around £2 million a year, meanwhile Mesut Ozil continues to draw £350k a week for the occasional guest appearance. The Premier League in a nutshell...
And yet Arsenal are looking to bring new players in...….Just doesn't seem right, whether morally or legally...but I am not an employment specialist.
l hope people will never forgive or forget the stinking attitude of Ozil. They asked him to take a ‘co-vid’ pay-cut and he Spat the dummy and complained about such a thought. They tried to on sell him to other clubs but he refused to take a pay cut, to play. What a pathetic role model and person in general.
Citeh v Real if you get the chance to see Sterlings goal (it’s bound to be in you tube) it’s hilarious defending from Madrid, it makes our back line look good
Another example of the FA giving Non-League a kicking whilst they are on their knees, increasing fines by 20%, what a great idea. Trouble is Non-League clubs are on the verge of bankruptcy if they are not allowed paying customers, to date the FA have shamefully been silent rather than pressuring the Government to allow small crowds to save these clubs from going under, you'd expect them to have their members' best interests at heart but they can't help themselves...
We may joke, but Sturgeon is threatening it, after Bolingoli from Celtic took the piss and flew to Spain for a day, didn't quarantine and then played against Kilmarnock. Celtic and Aberdeens next two games are off, and any more incidents and they're threatening to stop the league.... On a yellow... but can Scottish football avoid red card after Covid-19 breaches? "Consider today the yellow card. The next time it will be the red card because you will leave us with absolutely no choice." Scotland's first minister Nicola Sturgeon left Scottish football with no room for misinterpretation on Tuesday when she addressed Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli's lockdown breach. The Belgian flew to Spain last week, failed to quarantine on his return, then played in a match. That came just days after eight Aberdeen players had to apologise after two contracted coronavirus. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53741061
I trust that both Aberdeen and Celtic are going to heavily fine the players concerned Absolutely pathetic behaviour
Hope so. I'd like to see them both have to forfeit their games and the points they could have got - that would ram home how stupid they've been. Then the clubs would really come down hard on them
