I agree that it is harsh but provided it is applied consistently, everyone will know where they stand
Call me old-fashioned (or just old!), but I'm bloody sick of VAR already. There, I said it! Also, whenever were rules applied consistently!
I just think that VAR may benefit us over the season when we play one of the money teams. I can see decisions that refs automatically gave in their favour being overturned on the odd occasion.
Good win for Blades. I think that’s not the worst result for us in a way as I think Palace could be in the relegation mix, but slightly more of a threat than Blades.
The Blades are riding their luck a bit as they only managed 43% possession and only 3 of their 15 shots were on target. Their next two games are Leicester at home and Chelsea away.
With Chelsea having a nightmare at OT last week and being held at home my a Maddison inspired Leicester this I think they may be vulnerable next weekend if we can continue where we left off yesterday. A point should be a distinct possibility and three might put Ole Frank in danger of the radioactive teapot.
I see Pogba's penalty was saved - the Wolves' keeper probably feel asleep during his slow-mo run up?? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football
Pogba strolled through the game, and did nothing worth talking about. The penalty was probably the quickest he moved, but was at good height for keeper. He really is an arrogant waste of talent
I see he has been subjected to a torrent of racial abuse on social media, this is abhorrent and completely out of order. Call him out for his lack of contribution but he was a poor player who happens to be black, his colour has NOTHING to do with his performance
you would think so, the average person who deals out this awful abuse cannot surely be clever enough to use a VPN and hide their true identity. At the very least their accounts should be frozen with a generic message applied as a last post saying "I have been banned as a racist dickhead, if you know me in real life please spit on me and call me alsorts of rude names that I thoroughly deserve" Bah!
Phil Neville made an interesting argument today, twitter/instagram are doing next to nothing to prevent this abuse, why are footballers persisting with these platforms? Nothing of great value comes from footballers posting the same old "3 points, great result, thanks for the support" message each week, they should boycott the platforms. Perhaps if hit in their ad revenues the social media sites might finally do something. Alternatively, there has to be enough money in sport that they could set and run their own alternative service for footballers to send inane platitudes into the void.
I hate Villa! Grealish literally just falls over all the time and the refs fall for it and award him a foul. Why is he so highly regarded?
Everton were so poor. Coleman looks a shadow of his former self, the normally effervescent and dangerous Bernard was marked out of the game, Sigurdson clearly wasn't match fit and midfield creativity was non-existent; crosses hit the first man, long balls went nowhere near their target and the shooting was abysmal. It wasn't until Iwobi and Moise Kean came on with 20 minutes to go that Everton mustered any threat. They played as if they only had to turn up to win and when they discovered Villa were actually playing had no answer but one silly foul after another. That said, luck was on Villa's side as well as Everton ineptitude and it could easily have finished 1:1.
So NUFC take the lead!!! Crikey - Spurs lose and are denied a penalty by VAR!! Edit - Wolves earn a draw after the penalty is confirmed by VAR!!!
Just watching Rangers and Celtic kicking lumps out of each other. Poor quality from both teams. Both would struggle in Championship Celtic 2 - 0
