Northern Ireland international Tom Flanagan has put pen to paper on a new deal at Sunderland AFC. The defender, who moved to the Stadium of Light in June 2018, has signed a two-year contract on Wearside, extending his time at the club until 2022. Since joining the Lads, Flanagan has made over 60 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals. After committing his future to the club, the 28-year-old said: “It’s been an uncertain time in every sense, so it’s good to have it signed and sealed, and I’ll be raring to go once we return to training. I get on really well with the manager and I like his management style, so I’m really looking forward to the next two years. There is definitely unfinished business for me at the club, so I can’t wait to be back.” Manager Phil Parkinson added: “I’m really pleased that we’ve agreed a new deal with Tom. He’s a good character and an excellent professional, and we are all looking forward to working with him again during the upcoming season.” https://www.safc.com/news/team-news/2020/july/flanagan-signs-two-year-deal
Good. We need bodies, and if Bailey Wright is signing even better. Think Wright will be a good influence on Flanagan and hopefully help him to cut down on his mistakes.
Now that would be delightful news. I’d like to think we get Maddison as well, I’ll take the baggage as he’s on of ours and I reckon he’d knuckle down. Probably sign Joelinton’s cousin instead.
Them two is probable as good as we can get Together with Willis there will be ok as our back three when required But we still need cover
I think Burge is more than decent for the level mate, he’s done nowt wrong. We need a backup but he’s solid. Biggest concern for me would be a consistent goal scorer, but unless we find one in a ****ing Kinder egg that’s a no go. Wright and Willis a great start at the back, but I don’t rate any of the wide defenders at the club, at all.
Bailey and Maddison would be an excellent start to summer. Left back, strong centre midfielder and a goal scorer please.
He's not the greatest but he's not total ****e either. TBF, he did look good in a three with Willis and Wright though so hope he get him signed an all.
Never had one. Lived in exile for years and only last couple been back up this neck of the woods. Still can't afford one like but am looking forward to getting back to watching a match.
COME ON SANDY RESPOND STICK A THREAD UP GIVE ME A BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER AND NAME TO A PM AND ILL SEND A DONATION HONEST, AND NO IM NOT A NIGERIAN PRINCE
Don't really know what to make of Flanagan, plays well for a few games then has a stinker. I guess that's good enough for league one but he needs to work on his consistency. Wouldn't hurt if someone could show him where the weights room is. If any of our lads know.
