Mark Armstrong in the Pink’Un has summed up the transfer window to date. Cantwell to stay and no new CB seems the order of the day. What of Buendia you all ask!?

 

Apparantly Leeds are making a bid for Buendia.
Who would you prefer to stay?

 

Not impressed with either of them at the moment. Even if they stay, they may very well put themselves before the team and be either left out of squad or sit on the bench. We need to win games after the abysmal start to this season. This has got to be a priority for fans.

 

If they don't want to play for us then let them leave, only on our terms and price though.

Cantwell was left out of the U21 squad because of his attitude, demote him into the youth squad if he doesn't want to be here .

I have more sympathy for Emi as he's an Argentinian that's been furthering his career in Spain and wants Premier league games.

I would rather hang onto Buendia personally as he's a better player in my opinion.

 

Trybull on loan to Blackburn for the season appears to be on the cards. Wouldn't have been my first choice destination for him, he can definitely hurt us there!

 

Teaming up with Bradders !! Quite a formidable pairing.

 

Better than what we have I think.

 

Farke doesn't expect movement in or out before the deadline now. Described Klose's departure as a little surprising, but happy with what we have.

I think Sorensen and Tettey must look capable enough as 4th/5th CB options then, or Famewo easy to recall from his loan.

 

Hernandez getting injured should probably bring Cantwell back into contention, already down to Handley and Gibson as our only fit centre backs .
This has injury crisis written all over it.

1 hour left until the window slams shut so we'll have to wait and see if there are any late surprises.

Is going to Swansea.

 

Just had a scroll through Sky transfer news before going to bed. Gillingham not expecting to make any signings. WOW, Sky must be over the moon with the impact this second window is having. And echo man, Bennett going to Swansea. Night, night folks, midnight here.

 

The Pink’Un is running a story that DF/SW tried to find another CB but failed in their bid as players were too expensive. I don’t buy that at all, even in these Covid days and lack of crowd income. They are looking to reinforce in January 2021. As somebody has already stated, any further injuries to existing CB will mean a makeshift pairing not the situation pertaining to a promotion push.

 

DF didn't say a CB was too expensive, he said that any CB who "could improve us" was too expensive. What exactly don't you "buy" Slicker?

 

This is a 'fail' for me. Words are easy, but if that was the case why did we let Klose leave on loan? Last season fell apart and a huge factor was not bringing in a replacement for Klose after his injury. It isn't enough that Tettey and Sørensen can also play there. Quintilla could as well if we had another option at LB. The window started well with players coming in, but finished with too many holes, especially in defence, which now looks very thin.

 

RER nice to know that somebody else has the same apprehension as me. Is Hanley back in training? If so, with Zimmermann now injured we have a pairing of Gibson and possibly Hanley who may have just come back from injury. More make do and mend.

 

Lessons learned from last season ? I think not.
