I just didn't rise to your lawless jibe Mind you I live in a fairly remote village with it's fair share of shady ex Glasgow characters who you don't question too deeply. Rumour also has it that Burke and Hare had a hideout here. I'll say no more. I used to get loads of wind and rain in Brighton too.
There was another wall I believe built in Scotland by the Romans.Haven't a clue if it's still there.Over the years farmers and others took a lot of Hadrian's Wall for their own purposes. I don't have a problem with that song at England's rugger matches. It just doesn't go with blood and thunder of the game......
I always wanted to live around Brighton.Never will now.My Yankee wife won't let me! But I envy those that do...….
The Antonine Wall near Glasgow which is a 100 miles north of the modern border. The Romans were in Scotland for some time, there are many Roman remains here. They just got fed up with the Highlanders coming down and kicking 7 bells out of them. The didn't like it up 'em as Jonesy would say
Anyway Sparticus was not a Roman was he. Notable Italian Scots Lou Macari Tom Conti Peter Marinello Dominic Matteo Ricky Sbragia Charles Forte Ronni Ancona Paul di Giacomo Dario Franchitti Lena Zavaroni To name a few.
Offiah was only really a League player. He played a little Union only at the end of his career. Union was amateur back then and he needed to make a living.
Stevie Archibald, didn't have much Italian in him, but he's pretty Spanish now, and that's close. Yiddo!!!
So apparently Dortmund's loss was entirely down to several of the squad visiting a barber before the match You can tell that Norbert used to coach them, can't you?
Fair play, I'm converted. The first time I ever tried Haggis was on a Burns night. I fancied the Whisky, so I sat in on the meal. It was so fekking good that I hardly drank any whisky, and since I've taken haggis all over the world. Nowadays, I let the South Africans provide the whisky, the last haggis won me 2 litres of Johnny Walker Blue, can't be bad!
