Just got tickets to the Olympiakos game... £40 and £30 for teen beast... will be our last game here until well into the new year...hope tonight and that one are ones to remember...for the right reasons unlike last time

Back to the days where praying for a win of any kind, is the primary action.

 

As we've scored double what our youth team did in every previous game while also matching the result, I'm expecting us to score 18 tonight

Brilliant to see Lo Celso back in the match day squad. The level of expectation now on his shoulders to deliver pretty much immediately is enormous and I hope he doesn't buckle under the pressure.

That back line is One Foyth away (boom boom) from what I feel should be our go-to line up from now until January. There is no question that Dave is at his best when paired with Jan in a back 4. Alongside Toby he looks lost at see and for some reason having 2 right footed CBs leaves us completely lopsided despite few other teams having a problem with it.

Having said that, my gut feeling is we'll see a FB rotation of Aurier-Davies/Foyth-Sess so that we have a good balance of attack and defence in the back 4.

I've been mulling over watching this game since FT on Saturday and I guess my curiosity to see this back line, plus (maybe) Lo Celso in action outweighs the nagging dread I now have whenever we are playing.

 

If all we have is faith then we will need hope and charity for sure. Although hope has been beaten out of us lately.

Here's the thing I don't get: most great CB partnerships are made up of two right-footed CBs, for example Baresi/Costacurta, Bruce/Pallister, Puyol/Pique, Vidic/Rio, Racist/Carvalho, Drink Driver/Tax Dodger, yet we seem to lose something with two right-footed CBs

...usually wingers making a late break into the box
