Haven’t commented yet because I’m still in disbelief how Spurs got outplayed by the worst team in the league and ended up dropping yet more points

It’s not all the manager’s fault but he’s not helping himself at all

Yet again, it’s a big summer of change needed at Spurs

Jose put out a team perfectly able to put a team like Newcastle away but once more the defence are a mess , the only one who came out with a half decent game was Rodon but only just

Maybe it's time for Joseph to look for his next big money club.
I'm now not sure he knows what he's doing here.
My own thoughts about him indulging in brinkmanship at this
club have alas reached their limit.

With so much at stake and after today's performance, Jose
is not playing games - It's just that he seems unable to turn
    back time.

It's quite a shame knowing now that this squad of Spurs players
are dependent on the failure of other clubs this season in order
    to rescue their own.

    Saddening.

As soon as the bus isn't parked, he chucks his players under it.

    Prick.

It amazes me that you can get such football talents to play in such a clueless manner. Do we actually have a manager? On top of that Lloris looks more and more wedded to his goal line when balls are centred into his box. I say HIS box but he's hardly in charge is he? Our defence get's a lot of stick but I wonder how much of it is down to Hugo's lack of decisiveness..

It's the football equivalent of 'Find the Lady' - 'Spot the Right Back'

From Walker and Trippier to Aurier and Doherty... A regression so bad we've been playing a young CB out of position to try and rectify it.

Painful really. Just part of the reason this club has cocked up so much in recent years. Dire recruitment, both in players and manager.

If we had a top quality CB (or Toby) on the pitch, we probably win that game at a canter. Unfortunately we had the car crash that is Davinson Sanchez on the pitch instead, he really is dreadful, he can`t head the ball, can`t pass the ball, can`t tackle and can`t read the game, his only quality attribute is having some pace. He needs binning off this summer and upgrading upon, along with Aurier, Doherty and Sissoko. Once again we take the lead in a game and immediately stop attacking, once we went 2-1 up we looked afraid to go forward, for example Son had an opportunity to blaze down the left wing but instead stopped, turned back and played the ball backwards inviting pressure onto our hapless defence. I think Mourinho`s tactics would work if we had some quality defenders who know how to manage a game, we take the lead in plenty of games and yet have thrown away 15 points from winning positions. The book stops with the manager though, and we won`t know if its the players or the tactics until there is a change of either, though I don`t remember Sanchez looking quite this bad under Poch. Overall, a standard Spursy failure to take another opportunity (it happens every single time), you could see an equalizer coming all second half, I even predicted dropped points pre match and even took the 6/5 on offer on Newcastle or the draw.

He not a right-back and has very limited experience in that position at any level, but I think we had to play him today.
Aurier and Alderweireld came back to training from international duty yesterday, for some reason.

Why didn't we start people in front of the fullbacks and why did we start with such a weird system? No idea. Worked against Villa, I guess.

    Desperation?

Selections in every passing match look like he's throwing together combinations in a vain hope that they might be better than the previous catastrophe...

This is the thing that's annoying me the most: throughout Ramos' tenure, whenever there was an opportunity to close the gap on teams above us we'd always **** it up - and for most of that time that meant closing the gap on the team in 10th

Now look at the ubermensch's time with us, and how many times have we had an opportunity to close the gap or even move ahead of teams above us, and what happens? We conspire to stay in the exact same spot in the table

I wonder if it’s an ego thing.

Thinking that because you can generally mastermind a victory against the good teams that can you sit back and relax against the lesser ones.

Mind you, some of the other stuff Ledley said about Ramos certainly makes him a weirder bloke than Jose.

What really stuck out today is how Steve Bruce outthought him

We set up to cover our right flank as that's been a constant source of problems this season (and large chunks of last season too) so we had Lo Celso covering Tanganga, so what did Newcastle do? Ignore that flank entirely and attack us down our left, causing Regi and Lucas to have a torrid afternoon because they weren't expecting to be attacked down that flank, and our solution was to bring on Son which wasn't a solution at all as they kept attacking us down that flank

I can't remember who (I think it was PNP) but they did voice concern about our subs when the team was announced, as Dier is the only defensive player we had, and with both Lamela and Sissoko on the bench our team appeared to be set up to protect the right flank at all costs - but they never attacked that flank, so our strategy was out the window for the entire second half
