You must be kidding. We are better than Liverpool and they will find out the difference between playing us and beating a pathetic park team 7-0.

Notoriously difficult to catch and even when you do, they can f**k you up with those antlers.

He could have lost 10-0 with a sartorial/shaving
regime like that, and Spurcat would not have blinked. :)

Come on. It's been a while since we had a special team and some fans are sitting on their hands. Get behind them.....enjoy it.....before they are gone!

Nicely cup-tied now, if he wants to win the Champions League this season he's going to have to help Spurs win it.

Clever also for bringing Rose on in the place and time he'd be likeliest to get a warm reception.

    Good point.
I don't think he's leaving; he's just been made to wear a hair shirt for a few months.

    1. Be a right laugh if he was sold to one of the Mancs
in the winter, and they go on to win the CL

    2. He can play in the EL for another club in the KO
stages, as long as Spurs are not in it. (fancy signing
    for the Goons, Danny ?? ) .

It would be far funnier if he was sold to one of the Mancs and WE went on to win it!

I read somewhere very recently, a journalist saying Winks is a good player and a good prospect, but there's no way Poch would play him in a big game against big opposition.

I hope the journalist has a serious rethink, because the young man Winks showed last night why Poch trusts him.

I said when I saw the starting XI it was a risk, and that
the senior players would need to protect him being overwhelmed.

As it turned out, twas the senior players who allowed Modric to
run riot in MF, and Winks played a classic "percentage player"
game whenever he was on the ball.

It will be interesting to see how he pulls the strings when he
has the likes of Wanyama and Lamela doing the opposition MF
    beasting.

  15. If Eriksen had played half as well as Winksy, we would have really got a result last night!

Similar could be said during the West Scam game: when he came on his introduction was greeted with the usual "youthful energy" claptrap from whichever pundit was on duty to say nothing of importance (I think it was Danny Mills), which may as well have just been the pundit admitting they know **** all about any club outside the punditry love-in bubble considering Winks made over thirty appearances last season with which to make an informed opinion about how he actually plays.

Eriksen yesterday reminded of Modric at Spurs.
The class is undeniable but for games he goes missing.

Modric now keeps his game consistently high for all
opposition due to the MF spadework done for him + the
fickle plastic nature of get Real Madrid meaning he will be
    turned on in an instant.

  18. I thought Modders was the real class act last night. Everything he did was spot on, but he also put in one helluva shift. Would be great if Harry W could model himself on the Croatian..... a long way off right now but you can certainly imagine the development.

Agreed. Modric was excellent last night. It was a privilege to see him play when he was with us. A truly great player.

I think that Winks agrees with you, according to these quotes from him:

“Modric was always someone I looked up to when I was coming through the academy as a young player.”
“He is someone I would go to White Hart Lane to watch and I still admire him to this day. To play against him was special.
“He and Kroos are fantastic, world-class players, so when you go on the pitch with them, it is easy to get a little bit daunted.
"But I tried to take all that away from it, treat it as any normal game and approach them as I would any other player.
"You realise just how good they are when you play against them.”
