In retrospect, the whole thing was a repeat of the Leandro Damiao farce(s): just like Internacional did, West Brom said a large number of clubs were bidding for Berahino - in this case they said fifteen - which blatantly looked like they were hoping for some kind of transfer auction to happen, yet Spurs were the only team to bid so they had a huff and took their ball home. The difference is Internacional didn't try to bullshit people by saying they didn't have time to sign a replacement, despite signing two new strikers a month previously.
Also, the Son hype has finally hit South Korea (been living here for a year now) Can finally talk to people about Football and not have to talk about United and Park Ji Sung.
"Also, the Son hype has finally hit South Korea (been living here for a year now)" Self organising networks a big thing in South Korea ?? The marketing thing is obvious as that SpursOfficial clip of him also had captions in Korean.
Yeah. It's very much a good marketing move, regardless of how good he turns out to be on the field (smacks of Yedlin?) Koreans back their own to the hilt so I'm looking forward to all the glory Spurs fans Equally many Chinese football fans tend to follow Korean players too. That's a money-spinner right there.
I guess that means Cy Goddard will never play for the first team, as he'd obliterate the Korean and Chinese markets overnight.
The transfer window's been shut for a little over three weeks, and yet we're already being linked with January purchases - today it's Inter centre back Andrea Ranocchia, who's about the 73rd footballer to fall out with Roberto Mancini. Because it's not like we signed two centre backs this summer or anything...
I've liked the look of Wimmer in both his games so far. Dier is basically the new DM messiah, but he does work as CB too, but we can't expect hack journos to put that sort of complexity together when they can link us to Centrebackinho
Journalists watching our matches? Judging by some of the match reports I've read in the last few years, most of them have the story written before kickoff - The Grauniad in particular is appalling for this, as often their match reports have little to nothing to do with our matches, barring a cursory mention of somebody scoring a goal buried inbetween various paragraphs on anything other than the match.
Today's space-filler: Brondby's 17-year old striker Armend Aslani, who is supposedly available for around £350k ...although if we wanted to sign a Scandinavian striker of Slavic descent, I'd prefer if we signed PSG's Sweden striker Kosovare Asllani please log in to view this image
