I think that is a pretty fair assessment, Brailsford hasn't handled the media very well. However generally in sport people don't like a team that dominates like SKY have, particularly in France where the English are not liked, and the French are very protective of their Tour, and desperately want a home winner. I think Froome hasn't been taken to the heart of the British for the reasons it states, never lived here, does race here etc. This year it has been a much closer race than the last 4 years, and the French team with Bardet in it is very close to SKY, so I feel this year SKY have not had the same hard time as in the past. As it says the French Boo anyone they don't like, so this is nothing unusual.
Froome wins Yellow easily finish 3rd in the time trial, Bardet drops to third with Uran 2nd. Landa so unlucky to not get on the podium, losing our to Bardet by one second to finish 4th.
last year the French were throwing more than boo's at Froome ...Human excrement for starters. So I doubt if some booing is going to bother him too much.
Looks as if the richest guy in UK is going to take over the SKY team. Does he fancy City as well? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/47608625
Well, the tour is already at stage 6, and the first summit finish, and by Jove was it some finish. 24% gradients on the La Planche des Belles Filles, and G showed the rest of his rivals that he is in good form, and took some seconds out of the closest contenders. Especially Egan Bernal his teammate who is tipped to possibly take over G's place at as the lead rider. G turn a 5-second deficit into a 4 second lead over him.
I was just going to start a new thread for Tour de France when this one reappeared. With cricket coming to an end, I need to work out my viewing for this. So What is the usual time to watch it live each day? When are highlights shown? When is the iconic mountain stage? Can't recall the name.
How does the co leader thing work? Do half the team support each rider or do the whole team stick together til a final sprint on each stage?
@askewshair ITV 4 highlights at 7.pm only 1hour long and good summary, they've just done a few days of those big hill things. Are you out on your bike this year?
Cheers Guv. I haven't yet, gonna try to get out on Sunday. I need to find local routes which dodge the traffic, To be honest it took the enjoyment out of it. How many miles have you got in?
