Everyone’s been very quiet on here…I guess we just want to see a win… 2-1 bigal…? I’ll still be happy to see lots of attacking football and masses of chances and a draw. Not happy as in ‘happy’ but I’m not abandoning the view that we might need more than 4 games to get going. bookies have us as firm faves and I think we will win at last. Im going 3-1. Time to get behind the sofa and hide…
0-0 at half time then. We're missing Bonne up front and Edwards is being double/triple teamed out wide. Coulsen, Burns and KVY have been good but the final ball has been lacking so far. Wimbledon have been physical with cheeky body checks and shirt tugs normal play for them. Here's hoping we can break through their lines and get a couple of goals in the second half, scoring first should make them open up a bit.
Burns forced to leave the field as Donacien doesn't have his shirt and had to run back to the dressing room to get it. The sub had already officially been made so Burns was not allowed to stay on the pitch, leaving us with ten men for a bit. A tad embarassing
Good job we've had favourable fixtures to start off with. 4 wins in 25 matches simply isn't good enough. Still hopeful that the pain as PC has said is only short term but as I've said many times the proof will be in the pudding and at the moment I haven't seen anything to suggest we'll be promoted this season or even a mid table side.
Still so depressingly predictable, I knew as soon as it went 2-1 we wouldn't see it through. Are we switching off, not fit enough, thinking too much about it when we get ahead, or just not good enough? Relegation zone now, we need that first win, belief is already fading away..
Well that's bloody frustrating, another draw from a game that we could have won. I reckon Carroll will be in the team next week. We did pretty good down the sides today, Burns/KVY and Edwards/Coulsen both look like promising partnerships with all four players doing well although we didn't get the ball to Edwards enough in the second half again. Harper and Evans in the middle weren't so great. Harper got caught out a few times and lost possession in some dangerous areas and Evans really didn't have much affect on the game either defensively or in the attacking play. Piggott did ok but we missed Bonne today, who will be our main striker this season. Burgess is a beast in defence but Woolfenden still gives me jitters. Not convinced by Hladky yet either who for me, doesn't attack crosses enough. Still, it was a good game to watch but we need to learn how to see these matches out when in the lead, and I don't mean by falling back into a defensive shape and hoping for the best!
