That's all well and good but we aren't set up to play to whatever strengths he has got. Very similar in style to Dykes, we can use him to hold it up but we don't get enough quality crosses into the box for him to be effective in the air in the opponents box !
Chris Martins debut could resemble the managerial appointment of Stewart Houston. Away at Swindon if memory serves and he comes out on the pitch to give a wave and was roundly booed by the travelling fans.
Knowing some of the brain dead fans we have, it wouldn't surprise me. It would be quite pathetic if it did happen.
I'm sure everyone will give him a chance. I don't have a problem with Chris Martin, I have an issue with the club signing Chris Martin.
I think as others have suggested his knowledge of the dark arts is something we just haven't had much of in our team, I don't really like it but desperate times and all that. A bit of nous isn't going to hurt us.
Hope he's actually fit enough to start let alone get goals. It may take him a couple of weeks to get over the shock of finding a new club.
Given the number of players that have had stellar careers elsewhere and been duds at Loftus Rd, "shock" might be a nice way of describing this phenomenon
