Sounds like we're definitely in for a senior defender though, which suggests one of Matip or Gomez may leave.
Would love it to be gvardiol for that left back / centre back option if going down that route. But even just as a regular cb would be quality to learn alongside vvd. feel bit out of our price range.
I would guess Matip based on home grown rules and his age. Personally, I think Matip's better than Gomez, but if a new guy was coming in for first team, it would make more sense to sell Matip.
RBL were club who made opening offer for Carvahlo. Be a shame to lose him after the work that went into getting him. but if part of a deal for gvardiol though
If we get Gvardiol, could we go three at the back to release Trent that but more? Would allow Robbo to do his thing too then Don't see it personally, just asking for thoughts...
Matip's contract also runs out next summer and I don't think we're interested in extending it beyond that. So will make sense to take the money this summer rather than nothing.
First gvardiol is money hungry and on hos way to city. we've been treated to the full gambit of media from his camp including all sorts of ball tickling about how he loves klopp or liverpool or something. just making sure he is out there in the media and he's now courting city.t we all know matip is a goner and gomez has just lost it totally mentally. so we need a cb or two but gomez needs a club to play at and not be villified
Looks like Mount's going to Man U, with personal terms already agreed. Never liked him anyway Also Kovacic set for talks with Man City. Both those transfers make some sense.
Do they? I'd say mount doesn't fit. Where does he fit in this strategy? Rice casemiro Anthony fernandes rashord Kane Same for city. Kovacic doesn't fit their system as it currently stands 3241 Stones and Rodriguez stand in the 2 so this is another bench warmer
Rice doesn’t play for United so he Mount probably takes Fred/Mctom place in the side alongside casemiro and Fernandes. and kovacic is a replacement for gundogan which makes sense.
