Erik Lamela highlights, including a double-murder on Townsend: Not sure what he did to deserve that, to be honest!
As I've been saying, he's an English player from the 70s. please log in to view this image That haircut, that dubious attempt at a moustache, his name, the fact that he's a winger who crosses it...
That is unfair to ridicule a baby-faced man for having what a decade after my teens became known as the "Ross from Friends" (I could only ditch mine the the day I got my uni student union card) .
There's more talk of a move for Marseille CB, Duje Caleta-Car. Tall Croatian at 6'4, Croatians haven't been too bad for Spurs over the years so if he were to join hopefully he'd follow suit. I don't think his potential signing affects our move for Romero for what it's worth. There's always been talk of Spurs wanting two CBs and by most accounts Romero sounds quite close. So Caleta-Car is potentially gong to be the second CB we go far after Nuno supposedly turned down Andersen and the Kounde move is seemingly very doubtful. Think Liverpool were once linked with him too IIRC.
So how many of Aurier/Dier/Sissoko have to be sold for this transfer window to be regarded as a good one ??
Schira is going as far as saying we’re close to an agreement but his track record isn’t the greatest.
Those three, Toby, Sanchez and Winks would represent a great window of clearing the dross I’d say. Although I doubt we’ll sell all three senior CBs so maybe Dier will stay. Toby seems close to Al Duhail and Sanchez has interest in Italy and Spain, he has decent value so we could do with getting funds for him to use towards Romero/ other defensive targets.
As I said a day or so ago, I don't think we should go in for Caleta-Car because of how OM ****ed us over twice in the same summer window Let their players run down their contracts and pounce
Erik Lamela loved Tottenham and would happily rake the ankle and jab the ribs of anyone who didn’t. -The Athletic.
Just caught up with the day's big announcements. Funnily enough, despite the fact that he wasn't nearly as important a player as either of them, Lamela's departure has impacted more than Rose or Toby. Most probably because he bled for the shirt and whenever called upon gave 100%. I can think of no more than a handful of games across 8 years where he looked like he'd rather be elsewhere. Give Dele his attitude and we'd have one of the best footballers alive on our books. As for Bryan, can't say I know an awful lot about him but I see this as reminiscent of the shrewd investments we used to make before our recruitment powerpoints started flashing up pictures of Sissoko and Aurier under 'the way forward'. Bryan hits that 'sweet spot' of transfers. Not a cheap gamble a la Njie or Nkoudou but also not a player on enough radars and with enough experience to start commanding a huge fee and with that hype, unrealistic expectations a la Lo Celso and Ndombele. Bryan is somewhere in between the two, and that does make me hopeful. Thanks for that, Bryan.
Express online... "City have sent a warning to Spurs about their £160m valuation of Kane...they want him but have told spurs they have to lower their price if they want to sell Kane this summer as he won't be worth that much next summer."
