Not really, given they paid £14m (which, adjusted for PL hyperinflation, is surely close to £40m) for Craig Bellamy in spite him having arthritis, being involved in various relegation battle sat West Spam, Blackburn and Newcastle, a long history of hamstring injuries, and getting relegated at Coventry
That'd still be about £20+m less than what we paid for a player of arguably lesser calibre. He also wasn't considered the worst signing of the season in the league either, unlike our goal-shy pigeon.
The only reason paying £14m for an arthritic Craig Bellamy in 2009 wasn't considered one of the worst signings of that season was because football journalists are simps for teams with lots of money Change the name of the team to any other PL team of that season (okay, not every team, Liverpool would be exempt...) they'd have been a laughing stock
Imagine how bad you have to be that a £14m arthritic player managed to score more league goals in half a season than a £60m piegeon's managed in a whole season* *One more game to match/ better that stat.
CB Watch He's Danish, good in the air, and can pass out from the back - basically what Dier's supposed to be for us, but can pass out from the back
He's not really Toby-like in chipping the ball 50+ yards to feet, but he certainly can get us up and running in transition as he can find the midfield reliably It does have to be said that, on paper, he does seem to be a 1:1 swap for Dier * Heading ability (which, and a section of our fanbase are reluctant to admit, Dier is easily the best header of our CBs) * On-pitch leadership (which Dier does offer, as you see him organising the defence for set pieces) * Passing out from the back (which Dier is too conservative with, and always has been) Assuming that Slot* plays a back four, he's certainly the sort of player who would fit in alongside Romero to do the workhorse stuff while Romero pushes forward
Some **** Spanish source is saying Kane's asked to leave if a good offer arrives. Madrid, Bayern, Paris and Utd all possible destinations. It's probably the beginning of a ton of Kane related stories though, both from foreign and local press. We're likely as a club gonna dominate the headlines over the summer too, whether it's for good or bad reasoning remains to be seen.
Nevzat Dindar (who?) claims that we have told Galatasaray we will activate Victor Nelsson's release clause Ah yes, those ever-reliable Turkish sources are back!
Jack Pitt-Brooke reckons we’re trying to sign Manor Solomon as FIFA have ruled he can leave Shakhtar for free (typical Spurs ). Spent this season on loan at Fulham.
TBH he's a bit of a one-trick pony, and that trick is playing sort of like Son when cutting in from the left but not as good (or, if you prefer, a left-sided Malinofskyi) To be blunt the only way this makes sense is if we need cover on the left flank, even though that's what Bryan is best used for - or if we're thinking we bring him in for nothing and flip him for a quick £15m profit the following summer Or, you know, because The pathetic knows Jack Pitt...
Maddison and Gnonto. Think the former will go Toon now though, CL football and they’ll probably pay him £200k a week.
Arnaut Danjuma appeared to post a farewell message on him Instagram a couple of hours ago He now appears to have shut down his Insta Please tell me our fans weren't complete bellends...
The Geordies have been heavily linked with Leipzig's Dominik Szoboszlai. He's primarily an attacking midfielder, so it's probably unlikely they'll sign both.
